This forecast is attributed to restrictive monetary policies that will negatively impact aggregate demand, slower external demand that will limit export growth and factors such as volatility in global financial markets.

The report also highlights the potential for a slowdown in the economies of the United States and China, which could affect exports, remittances and capital inflows to the region.

The lack of macroeconomic policies and weak investment in Latin America hampered the region’s ability to address challenges such as climate change and meteorological phenomena.

As for annual inflation, it is estimated to decline from 6.8% to 4.3% in 2024, excluding Argentina and Venezuela, where it is expected to be higher. In addition, slower employment growth and an increase in the unemployment rate are projected in some economies.

In what will be the first face-to-face meeting of the cartel led by Saudi Arabia and Russia since 2020, oil producers could agree to a reduction of 2 million barrels per day in oil supply, around 2 % of production, in an attempt to support prices in the face of increasing recession prospects.

A decision in this sense by OPEC + would go against the demands from the United States and the EU, although, in practice, its impact on world supply would be low, since several countries are already pumping below their quotas.

Before the opening of the European stock markets, a barrel of Brent oil was trading at 91.84 dollars, with an increase of 0.04%, while in the case of West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI), a benchmark for the United States, the price of a barrel remained stable at 86.53 dollars.

The platform called Oz Project offered a return of 100 % of the amount invested and had managed to get about 6,000 million yen, almost 55 million dollars, to more than 20,000 people, according to reports made by Asahi Shumbum Digital.

The event that occurred in Aichi prefecture makes Japan the country where an alleged cryptocurrency scam scheme has been dismantled more recently.

According to the news released, the people captured are Yukihiro Yamashita, Takuya Hashiyada, Masamichi Toshima and Shoji Ishida. The latter, apparently, could be considered the leader or the highest ranking within the organization and is attributed “the offers of return on investment, which also included multiplying by 2.5 in just four months the money deposited.”

Regarding the way to attract the victims, they indicate that a person was in charge of holding events and meetings with the aim of “promoting the platform and promoting the creation of a group on the LINE social network for that purpose.” While other investors captured other people.

It is unknown which cryptocurrencies are involved in the scam or if the funds stolen from the victims was in fiat currency, although the evidence points to the second scenario. But since September 2019, victims of Project Oz began to file lawsuits in the city of Nagoya.
