Since the cryptocurrency exchange does not have an independent license to operate in the Asian country, it will do so through the SEBC.

The aforementioned platform does have authorization for legal operations, since it is registered with the Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA).

According to an official statement replicated in the media about this return of Binance to the Japanese market, it is estimated that the SEBC “will finish its current exchange and brokerage services for digital assets before May 31 and a new service will be launched later with the provisional name Binance Japan.

However, it is presumed that the operations could start after 2023. At the moment, it is known that the users of the platform must withdraw the funds before May 28 and the remaining funds will be converted to yuan before June 5, to later be transferred to the bank accounts of the users.

Binance Japan could start trading with “a limited supply of just 11 trading pairs, which is what SEBC currently offers. If the company wishes to list other tokens, it will require vetting by the Virtual Currency Exchange Association of Japan,” according to CoinDesk.

Through social networks it was learned that, during a meeting that took place last week, both organizations agreed to tighten the supervision mechanisms on movements that involve digital assets.

All this arises due to some “irregular practices” that could be carried out and that “attack” against the local currency, the digital bolivar as well as the stability of the exchange market.

This is how Sunacrip will monitor “real time” operations. Although they do not clarify it in their statement, this possibly responds to the growth in the adoption of the bitcoin ecosystem and cryptocurrencies in the Caribbean nation.

In this connection, at least 10 airlines, including Air France, Iberia, Gol, Aerolineas Argentinas and the Colombian Avianca have contacted the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela (INAC) to discuss the possibility of returning to their regular operations in Venezuela.

Humberto Figuera, President of the Venezuelan Airline Association (ALAV) pointed out that the interest of airlines in resuming their activities in the country was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. But with the gradual opening of the airspace, talks with official bodies have been activated.

Figuera recalled that some countries have “legal or diplomatic” impediments to reestablish their routes with Venezuela. “The only countries in which local or Venezuelan airlines cannot operate are Colombia, the Netherlands Antilles and the United States,” he pointed out.

For the lawyer specialized in aeronautical law, Rodolfo Ruiz, he considers the interest of international airlines to return to the Venezuelan market very positive because it is a sign of economic recovery and relaxation of the sanctions imposed on the country by the United States.

Renaissance of air transport sector

Lawyer Ruíz explains that Venezuela is experiencing a renaissance in all its economic sectors and in particular in the air transport or aviation sector, and in his opinion it is a good time to look towards Venezuela.

“There is a kind of awakening in aviation. As part of the aeronautical industry in my country in the legal field, I can say with great responsibility that it is a good time to start looking in Venezuela”, said the lawyer.

The first international airline to return to the country was the Portuguese TAP Air Portugal, with a flight from Lisbon and with 200 passengers on board, it arrived at the Maiquetía International Airport in Caracas on April 21.

While the Brazilian company Gol met on May 3 with the INAC authorities in order to carry out the “strategic plans” that allow the Brazilian company to resume its commercial activities in the country.

For its part, the Colombian Avianca also submitted a “request to the Colombian Civil Aeronautics to resume the Bogotá-Caracas route with a frequency of seven weekly flights.” With the return of this airline, one of the most popular and important routes in the region would be restored due to the proximity between both countries.

The financial institution spread the news through an official statement stating: “Goldman Sachs is closing its business in Russia in compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.”

Likewise, they maintain that they will continue to support their clients around the world in the “management or closing of pre-existing obligations in the market and guarantee the well-being of our people.”

After the decision, Goldman Sachs shares fell 2.43 % on Wall Street by mid-morning, on a bad day for the financial sector.

Russia with little impact on the business

Goldman Sachs Groups Inc has been present in Russia in recent years, but according to information provided by the entity “the country does not represent a significant part of its global banking business“, some 650 million dollars in credit risk by 2021.

Goldman’s exit is more symbolic as it is the first financial institution to suspend its operations as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which could induce a cascade of similar movements to other entities, as has happened with companies in other sectors.

Other US banks also have little presence in Russia. One of them is Citigroup, which has 3,000 employees at its Russian offices and had $9.8 billion in loans, assets and venture capital by the end of 2021.

According to data from Gasindustrial, the price of LNG that arrives from the United States to Spain is paid 40% more expensive than that received from Russia. Specifically, US gas cost an average of 53.88 euros/MWh; while the one from Russia did so at 38.42 euros/MWh.

There are currently seven major export facilities in the United States. Sabine Pass of Cheniere Energy in Louisiana; Cove Point Liquefaction in Maryland, now operated by Berkshire Hathaway; Corpus Christi Liquefaction, of Cheniere, Texas; Cameron LNG, of Sempra Energy, in Louisiana; Elba Liquefaction of Kinder Morgan in Georgia; Freeport LNG, in Texas and Calcasieu Pass, from Venture Global.

Cheniere Partners, owner of the Sabine Pass LNG terminal, has put its sixth liquefaction train into operation. At the same time, Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass plant also began supplying LNG, and last December the company and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced that an additional $10 billion will be invested to develop a new CP2 LNG facility.

On the other hand, and in the midst of tensions between Russia and Ukraine, it is worth noting that the Polish company PGNiG has already purchased a shipment of US LNG ready for supply at the Ukrainian border to ERU Europe. This is the second time that gas from the American country is supplied to Ukraine through an agreement between the two companies.

The former member, who is currently part of the board of directors of Ripple, the seventh crypto platform in capitalization and is used in cross-border operations, also highlighted that she hopes to see new players in the next year adopting the use of digital assets “or at least have a willingness to start these conversations and hopefully offer a way forward.

Last November the Federal Reserve and other regulators declared that “US lawmakers plan to clarify next year how banks and other financial institutions should handle cryptocurrencies.”

Key crypto market practicality and growth

On the other hand, Ríos made an exhortation for all those who are entering or have plans to join the crypto market or make investments in decentralized currencies and they should ask themselves if the product is practical and if it has growth potential.

According to Ríos, it is essential to find out what the intrinsic value of cryptocurrencies is. “I care a lot if it has intrinsic value”, explaining the concept how the asset can be used “responsibly” and if it can save time and money in the real world.

She pointed out that in terms of investments in cryptocurrencies, the “best seats” are already occupied “, emphasizing that” The train has already left the station “and the” ‘Blockchain’ technology is already here. “
