Microsoft will continue to update the Windows 10 operating system after recently announcing its successor, Windows 11, and prepares several new features that will arrive in the update of the second half of 2021 (21H2).

The new operating system was announced on June 25 with the features that will succeed Microsoft’s current system, but the company reaffirmed its commitment to keep bringing support for the old one until 2025, so that it is maintained for devices that do not meet the minimums requirements of the new system.

In Windows 10 update 21H2, which is expected to arrive in October this year, Microsoft will allow users to log in through Windows Hello with external cameras from closed or docked laptops, as stated in the documentation of the system.

In addition, the new update will allow the use of the TPM key attestation function, which uses cryptographic certificates for greater security control, with the Tiger Lake processors with Intel TPM.

For its part, the company made a commitment on GitHub to also make it easier for business users to manage on-demand features and language packs when using WSUS or Configuration Manager.
