Microsoft announced a new 64-bit version for its cloud storage service, OneDrive, which enables file synchronization between 64-bit Windows computers and is more powerful than the previous 32-bit version.

Starting this week, OneDrive users with 64-bit Windows computers can access the new version of the service, which is in the public preview phase, with early access, as the company reported in a statement.

Until now, although it could be used from 64-bit computers, OneDrive only had its initial 32-bit version, but the new one takes advantage of the characteristics of this type of computer, which generally has more memory and processing power, as well as compatibility with apps 64-bit.

Microsoft assured that it is a “feature highly anticipated and requested by users”, and explained that the 64-bit version is the right choice for users who are going to use many or very large files from 64-bit Windows computers.
