Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently participated in the inaugural Microsoft AI Tour conference in the Mexican capital, where he announced that the company will invest $1.3 billion over the next three years to expand artificial intelligence and cloud capabilities.

At the event, Nadella “showcased the company’s innovations in artificial intelligence agents and in the deployment of data centers and Azure cloud regions.”

Microsoft’s investment over the next three years will be aimed at “improving connectivity and encouraging the adoption of artificial intelligence among small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), in order to accelerate their digital transformation and business growth.”

Furthermore, the executive indicated that the training of 5 million people in Artificial Intelligence skills is also planned in this period.

“This capital allows us to drive a profound transformation in the capacity of local ecosystems to take advantage of this new raw material as an input, so that they can create value,” added Nadella, stressing the importance of the development of both business and personal digital assistants, which strengthen the technological revolution.

Regarding the cloud, he highlighted the installation in 2020 of a cloud region in Mexican territory, through an investment of $1.1 billion. In May 2024, the second investment was announced for $1.3 billion. This cloud region “is part of the 40 regions with which the company offers its services globally, which are made up of more than 300 data centers distributed throughout the world.”

In the next three years, Venezuela hopes to meet the goal of installing 2,000 watts of solar energy to benefit, in a first stage, the most remote populations.

According to the announcement made this week by the Ministry of Electric Power, this is a new step within the framework of the Alternative Energies Plan, which is carried out in Venezuelan territory thanks to important national and international agreements.

The Ministry of Electric Power has worked since last year together with the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) in the evaluation of favorable conditions to create solar energy parks that will provide stability and sustainability to the national electric system.

On its Instagram account, the Ministry of Electric Power published a video where it clarifies: “In a first phase, this plan includes the development of 2,000 solar watts, starting with 500 megawatts that will be built in the states of Zulia, Falcón and Lara, to later implement a second and third phase that will include different states in the center and west of the country”.

It is expected that this installation plan for 2,000 watts of solar energy will strengthen the electrical system in Venezuela, and in this way correct the innumerable failures and interruptions that impair the correct development of daily and industrial activities in the territory.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has reported that Spain is going to contribute 15 million euros, over the next 3 years, to the pandemic fund created by the G20 at the meeting that it is holding these days in Bali (Indonesia).

This was announced by Sánchez at a press conference in the Indonesian city, where he explained that this fund’s main objective is to help low and middle-income countries face future pandemics, such as the one that occurred with the coronavirus.

“We have made significant progress in the field of global health and I think this is one of the successes of the G20 that we have reconfirmed at this summit has been the creation of this fund under the umbrella of the Global Fund and associated with the World Health Organization Health“, detailed the President of the Government.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced on Sunday the launch of this global fund to prepare for future pandemics, warning that the $1.4 billion (a similar figure in euros) raised so far is not enough. Twenty countries and three charities have already pledged to contribute a total of 1.4 billion euros to the fund, according to Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha, head of the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
