WhatsApp is developing an official channel, which will be implemented within the platform itself for its desktop version in beta, through which it will announce new features and news to people who use this application.

It was already known that the social network was working on an official communication channel within the betas for Android and iOS, but no details.

However, the WaBetaInfo portal reported that now this option is also under development for WhatsApp Desktop.

Advantages of the new WhatsApp channel

The function of the new verified channel is to offer users messages related to news, advice and information on new features that will be present in the application.

In addition, it will be an end-to-end encrypted chat, as in the rest, so that no one can intercept the messages. With a chat window that will only have a reading option. On the contrary, if the user does not want to receive WhatsApp messages, this channel can be silenced or blocked.
