Elon Musk, the owner of the social network X, indicated that starting this Saturday, January 17, the platform’s new algorithm will be open source.

Musk posted on the platform: “We will be making X’s new algorithm, including all the code used to determine which organic and paid posts are recommended to users, open source in 7 days.”

He explained that the process will be repeated every four weeks, “with extensive developer notes to help you understand what has changed,” giving anyone the opportunity to learn how the system works.

It is important to note that the algorithm is one of the most powerful tools of X and other social networks, as it “determines the feed or flow of information that appears in each user’s account.”
