As of this March 8, three new banknotes will be circulating to the current monetary cone, as announced by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) recently.

According to the agency, these pieces will be those of 200,000, 500,000 and 1,000,000 bolivars, the latter being the one with the largest denomination in circulation.

The objective, according to the BCV itself, is to “complement and optimize” the current monetary cone in order to meet the demands of the national economy.

Regarding the design, the three new banknotes have on their obverse the image of the Liberator Simón Bolívar. Likewise, the 200,000 and 500,000 bolivar bills will feature the image of the Mausoleum, integrated into the National Pantheon.

For its part, the 1,000,000 bolivar piece shows on its back a commemorative image of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Carabobo, a decisive fight in the War of Independence of the South American nation.
