In this sense it has devised a plan called <strong>&#8220;Net zero gas emissions + Nature</strong>&#8220;.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-61160 size-full" src="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/zero-nature.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/zero-nature.jpg 1280w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/zero-nature-300x169.jpg 300w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/zero-nature-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/zero-nature-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Since the planet went into confinement, more and more users have joined <a href="https://www.netflix.com/ve-en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Netflix</a>, a tool that has been helpful for people <strong>distraction and entertainment.</strong> The question is: What damage does this service cause to the planet? The answer is that <strong>producing and transmitting content</strong> negatively affects the environment due to the <strong>greenhouse gases</strong> it generates on the planet.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to an investigation carried out by experts from the <a href="http://www.bristol.ac.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>University of Bristol</strong></a>, <strong>one-hour transmission</strong> on Netflix generates approximately <strong>100 grams of CO2</strong>, equivalent to what a car would use to travel half a kilometer of distance.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Evaluating this scenario, the platform has devised a strategy to <strong>reduce its</strong> <strong>internal CO2</strong> <strong>emissions</strong> in order to limit global warming to 1.5 ° C, and for this, &#8220;it plans to invest in programs dedicated to <strong>preserving and restoring ecosystems</strong> that naturally store carbon dioxide that warms the planet.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The initiative was positively valued by <strong>Katharine Hayhoe</strong>, a climate scientist at Texas Technological University, who congratulates the company and assures that: &#8220;The film industry needs a leader when it comes to <strong>climate action</strong>. Changing the world starts with a company that steps up and inspires others to join it. I am delighted with how Netflix is taking on this leadership role.&#8221;</p>
