The National Consumer Price Index (INEGI) reported an increase in the inflation rate in Mexico during the month of March, reaching 3.80 %.

The trend continues for the second consecutive month, although it remains within the target range of the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).

According to INEGI, in March the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) “showed a monthly variation of 0.31 %, bringing the annual inflation rate to 3.80 %.”

The institute’s data show mixed trends in core and non-core inflation, “with the latter reporting an annual increase compared to the previous month.”

In the third month of the year, non-core inflation reached 4.16 % annually. According to INEGI, the price of agricultural products rose 4.87 % compared to the same period in 2024; while the energy sector and government-authorized tariffs showed inflation of 2.94 %.

Regarding core inflation, “which eliminates the most volatile goods and services from its calculations, it slowed slightly to 3.64 % from the previous month’s rate of 3.65 %.”
