Bancamiga delivered medical equipment with cutting-edge technology to expand the service provided by the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital Universitario Periférico de Coche Dr. Miguel Ángel Rangel, in Caracas, an institution dependent on the Ministry of Popular Power for Health.

“We are pleased to be able to help the Coche Hospital. This donation is evidence of our commitment to Venezuelan society to increase the care capacity of the hospital system so that more people who need it can benefit,” said the executive president of Bancamiga, Ariel Martínez.

As a socially responsible company and in its purpose of contributing to universal access to the population’s health, Bancamiga delivered two multiparameter monitors and two volumetric infusion pumps for serums, which will allow better care to be provided to patients who require treated with intensive care.

The director of the hospital center, Rosalbina Hurtado, thanked Bancamiga for its social management to benefit Venezuelans who need it. “Since we were contacted to receive this support for the ICU, we are very happy, because it means increasing our capacity to care for the community,” he stated.

Dr. Luis Martínez, head of the ICU at Coche Hospital, commented that in a private health center the daily cost in an intensive care unit is unpayable for the majority of the population, but with the new equipment they can have “two more beds in the ICU. Imagine the benefit that the patient can have when they are in critical condition and can be treated in intensive care, practically at no cost, and with the quality of service that we provide here.”

For the health of Venezuelans

Bancamiga made this contribution to Coche Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility management, supporting the work of an institution that seeks the well-being of Venezuelans. This donation is added to other contributions made to the national health system, added Ariel Martínez.

The donated multiparameter monitors are electronic medical equipment that allows the vital signs of patients in critical condition to be constantly and simultaneously tracked, to monitor variations in values ​​​​such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, among others.

Likewise, two infusion pumps were delivered to administer medications, liquids or nutrients to patients in a controlled and continuous manner.

These equipment “were necessary for our hospital, to expand the spaces in the ICU,” reiterated Dr. Vanessa Martínez, deputy director of the Hospital, who stated that the institution receives patients who require this care service and who have been referred both private institutions and other public care centers.
