Gino Fileri, president of the National Chamber of Mechanical Workshops (Canatame), estimates that by the end of 2025, the sector’s growth will not exceed 5 % or 6 %, despite the signing of alliances with various vehicle brands to provide after-sales technical service.

Fileri emphasized, however, that the workshops have work, are receiving numerous clients, and therefore remain active. He also commented that “the number of imported cars entering Venezuela has been a relief for auto repair shops.”

According to Fileri, affiliated workshops have resolved significant problems with vehicles that are not officially represented by the brands.

The executive emphasized that the country has an average vehicle fleet of over 20 years old, and added that “people are desperate to have a car that doesn’t require them to depend on a mechanic all day.”

According to Fileri, all workshops affiliated with Canatame are capable of resolving vehicle problems, as they have specialized technicians and tools.
