In the framework of Jefferson School’s 50th anniversary, the President of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal, José Simón Elarba, announced that the school, together with this prestigious school, will create the country’s first permanent Robotics and Artificial Intelligence program.

After describing this program, which will include national and international professors, as “ambitious and comprehensive,” Elarba stated that in its 50 years, the school has had a strong scientific focus.

“In 2024, our Robotics students represented Venezuela in Panama, and this year they did so in Turkey and Italy,” he said, noting that Jefferson has graduated 1,751 fully bilingual students and 100% of its graduates are accepted to national and international universities.

He stated that in the next 18 months, they are also planning to create the Swimming Academy and the construction of the auditorium, which will be named after Luis Antonio Tabares Aguado. “In this way, we recognize the commitment and dedication of Professor Tabares, whose guidance has been instrumental in Jefferson School being recognized for its educational excellence,” he added.

The remarks by the President of the Bancamiga Board of Directors preceded the concert by the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra, which was accompanied by the Juan Bautista Plaza Regional Choir, the Ángel Sauce Youth Choir, and the Venezuelan Children’s Singers, under the musical direction of Jesús Uzcátegui.

At the National Center for Social Action through Music in Quebrada Honda, Caracas, attendees enjoyed a repertoire for over 90 minutes that included Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

For Tabares, commemorating 50 years represents “a life of triumph, effort, and work. It’s a way to honor our children and parents, our people, without forgetting that we are all Venezuelans. I’m thrilled that the auditorium bears my name, but I’m even more thrilled that we’ll soon have this space.”
