According to the platform, the tool is available on mobile devices and “will be rolling out to select markets.” In any case, you won’t need to leave the app to send these messages to friends and share the desired content.

The app has indicated that from DMs, you can “share songs, podcast episodes, and audiobooks directly from the Now Playing view.” In addition to those audio links, messaging supports text and emoji reactions, so it’s not just a button to send a link: the idea is to have short conversations about what you’re listening to.”

Content received via messaging is saved in a Messages inbox within the user profile so that users can “find recommendations again without having to search for them in their history on external apps.”

Spotify has clarified that the feature is not exclusive to Premium customers, so it is also available for Free accounts on the mobile version, although the rollout will be gradual and limited by country in this initial phase.

Sharing content easily and securely

The tool works similarly to other platforms and social networks: just go to the “share” icon on the playback screen and select who you want to send the content to. You can also start a conversation with people “who are on your Family or Duo plan, or with whom you’ve made Jams, Blends, or collaborative playlists.”

The request can be accepted or rejected; you can also block a user or disable Messages. The platform emphasized security above all else, with end-to-end encryption and proactive scanning for illicit or harmful content, in addition to addressing user reports.

Hackers breached the security of the four banks without the institutions noticing their intrusion, and then dumped this information on dark web forums, according to cybersecurity firm Dvuln.

The specialized firm has indicated that “the breaches affect approximately 14,000 Commonwealth Bank customers, 7,000 ANZ customers, 5,000 NAB customers, and 4,000 Westpac customers. The data was collected over a period of at least four years through malware campaigns targeting personal devices.”

On the other hand, it has emphasized that this is not a breach in the banks’ security systems, “but rather individual infections of users’ phones and computers” using infostealer-type malware.

According to the intelligence firm KELA, “more than 3.9 billion passwords have been stolen using this type of malware globally.”

Experts from KELA and Dvuln have emphasized the need to increase protective measures not only by users, “but also by software developers, governments, and financial institutions, which must adopt more aggressive digital defense strategies.”

Additionally, surprisingly, 7 in 10 individuals said they would have been willing to share their location if they could have gotten valuable benefits in return, and an impressive 80 % expressed interest in receiving alerts based on their location.

With billions of mobile devices in the hands of countless users around the world, the geolocation data that can be obtained from these smartphones is not only diverse, but also extremely valuable.

In the field of retail, many of the applications available on the market incorporate sensors or location technologies, such as GPS, which allow tracking the location of each user and determining the opportune moment for communication.

Julie Villarreal, Integrated Marketing Manager at Infobip, explained: “The granularity of the geolocation data varied from city location or zip code to the street or even block where a user was located, with an approximate accuracy of 50 meters.

Local search optimization had twice the click-through rates compared to traditional advertising. “People were twice as likely to visit a store after seeing a geomarketing-generated ad.”

Geomarketing is a practice that combined geolocation techniques and technologies for user profiling and communication with customers.

Geolocation-based marketing strategies focused on the location of customers, whether business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C), allowing for more personalized and contextualized communication.

Villarreal added: “The main objective of geomarketing was to send the right message, to the right person, at the right time, to improve business results. It is important to highlight that, although there are various tools that allow geolocation strategies to be carried out, the “Geomarketing in itself is not a tool or technology, but a solid theoretical concept that draws on all of the above.”

In addition, at that time different countries were studying how to achieve a global system for mobile communications (GSM).

Subsequently, the German engineer Friedhelm Hillebrand defined what this messaging service would be like, establishing 160 characters as the maximum. But the first SMS as such takes place when the British programmer Neil Papworth sends a 15-character Christmas greeting message to Richard Jarvis, a Vodafone executive, who received it on his Orbitel 901 phone, in December 1992.

Thus, it was the Nokia company that a year later introduced a distinctive sound to its phones to signal received messages and made it fashionable to send messages from individual to individual. However, at first messages could only be sent between phones belonging to the same telephone operator, until interconnectivity between operators was made possible in 1999, allowing the use of different networks with the GSM standard.

In June of this year, the company announced that it was already possible to create groups with up to 512 participants, a feature that not only reached the mobile version of the application, but also the desktop mode.

Until then, WhatsApp only allowed groups of up to 256 participants to be created, which were reflected in the group information section. In addition, with this expansion, the app offered users the opportunity to add more people from this space once the group had been created.

Now, the specialized media indicated that the instant messaging application has again extended the limit of participants in a conversation, since groups of up to 1,024 people can now be created.

A large part of the users have not yet been able to test this new feature, since it is only available to some beta testers of the Meta service, both on iOS and Android.

Users of the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.21.6:) can now link an Android tablet to their account in the messaging service, as one of the four different devices it supports. The device with the account can be Android, but also an iPhone.

The user will be able to link a tablet from the WhatsApp settings on the phone, where they will have to go to “Link a device” and scan a QR code that they will see on the screen of the tablet. This process starts the synchronization of the messages between the two computers.

Once the synchronization is complete, WaBetaInfo confirms that WhatsApp can be used on the tablet without the need for the mobile to have an Internet connection or be turned on.

The Chinese company decided to unify the denomination of its products internationally and in the Chinese market, where its devices were already known only as ‘Xiaomi’ followed by the rest of the name, while in the rest of the world they were called ‘Mi’.

This has been confirmed by a spokesman for the Chinese company, which has ensured that the change in the nomenclature of the products will take effect from the third quarter of this year 2021.

In this way, brand devices such as its current flagship, the Mi 11 smartphone, will become known only as Xiaomi 11, as it is already the case in China. This does not affect other products of the company, such as those belonging to the mid-range Redmi sub-brand.

The company defended that this measure seeks to “unify the global brand presence and close the perception gap between the brand and its products.” He also explained that the changes “could take time to take effect in all regions.”

The new generation of Xiaomi’s HyperCharge fast charge is capable of charging a 4,000mA wired battery at full 200W in 8 minutes, and wirelessly at 120W in 15 minutes.

The company highlighted this solution with a customized version of the Mi 11 Pro, but at the moment it has not been introduced in any commercial device, not even in the Mix 4 that was recently presented and that integrates the 120W fast cable charging solution.

The company plans to start mass production of the 200W fast charge next year, according to MyDrivers, where they also point out that it could come with the Mix 5 if they keep the family.
