Migrants, including Venezuelans, who are in Mexico and want to enter the United States now have the CBP One app, launched by the country to regulate access for non-US citizens.

According to the United States Department of Homeland Security, the free access application for smartphones will help control the flow of migrants into the country legally. In addition, it will facilitate the process by making an appointment through the platform.

Through a press release, the United States immigration authorities explained: “The use of CBP One is expected to reduce waiting times and help ensure safe, orderly, and optimized processing. It is open to non-citizens of any nationality, as long as they are located in central or northern Mexico. The use of the application is free of charge.

Regarding the request for appointments through the CBP One app, it can be made “14 days in advance at eight border points located in Nogales (Arizona), Brownsville, Eagle Pass, Hidalgo, Laredo and El Paso (Texas); in addition Calexico and San Ysidro, California.

Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, declared that the launch of the application has the goal of facilitating the process of legal entry to the United States, minimizing the vulnerability of people.
