Gmail, Google’s email service, announced the inclusion of emojis in the tool, so users can add emotion to messages arriving in their inbox.

Regarding the new feature, which will be available for apps, iOS and Android systems, and web clients starting May 13, Google stated: “We’ll be able to use these emojis when replying to the sender, also to confirm receipt of the email, or simply to express yourself.”

This way, Gmail users will be able to show their gratitude to the sender, send a greeting, or indicate acceptance of an invitation using an emoji as an “expressive and personalized way to respond to emails.”

To add emoji reactions to emails, simply click the “Add emoji reactions” button located at the top of the message, next to the “Reply” button. Additionally, “you can see more emojis by tapping the + button, and all these reactions will appear at the end of the email.”

However, the technology company has clarified that “the feature will be disabled by default in Gmail, and they clarify that these emoji reactions cannot be sent to emails received through a Google Group or to those that have a Google Group in the recipient list.”

In addition to being available for iOS, Android, and web clients, it will also be available for Google Workspace customers, as well as users with personal Google accounts.
