In the midst of the preparations for the next Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government that will take place in the Dominican Republic on March 24 and 25, King Felipe IV held a meeting this Tuesday with the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand.

The objective of the hearing was to address some of the main axes that will be discussed at the next Ibero-American Summit, under the slogan “Together for a fairer and more sustainable Ibero-America”.

Alland has thanked the “unbreakable” commitment of the Crown to the Ibero-American Community during the last three decades and the attendance of Felipe VI at the Summit.

During the conclave, the Secretary General informed the monarch of the main advances in the preparation work on the four major issues to be addressed in the Dominican Republic, such as digital rights, the environment, food security and a new financial architecture, according to a statement from the Ibero-American General Secretariat.

They also spoke of the “unique” opportunity offered by this Summit to strengthen bi-regional relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean, an issue that Spain will prioritize on the occasion of the presidency of the Council of the European Union that it will hold during the second semester of the year
