Users of the social network X have been waiting for the negative review button for posts for a long time. Elon Musk recently hinted that it could come with the next update for iOS.

According to engineer and analyst Aaron Perris in an X post, replicated by TechCrunch, the negative review button would be next to the heart we know to indicate Like, via an inverted yellow arrow.

The social network will test this feature so that users can express a rating of posts “depending on the relevance or veracity of the content they are viewing.”

Jay Baxter, engineer and founder of X Community Notes, has said that “negative votes can serve as support for the function of commented notes as another method of valuing publications.”

From the platform, however, recommend that the use of this negative evaluation be made with common sense. The feature, which was briefly introduced in 2022, could generate a long list of Likes on posts, creating a “Reddit-like hive mind,” Baxter said.
