<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Macroeconomic factors such as low financial inclusion, exchange restrictions,</strong> and the gap in the<strong> dollar parity</strong> have driven the search for<strong> alternatives that provide security</strong>. This is where stablecoins come in, representing <strong>a valid, secure, and efficient solution.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to various reports from the <strong>crypto ecosystem</strong>, the use of stablecoins in the region accelerated significantly over the past year. In particular, their <strong>adoption by Latin American companies doubled between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025</strong>, solidifying their position as key tools for <strong>international payments, treasury operations, and foreign exchange.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In connection with this information, the <em>Criptonoticias</em> portal refers to the <strong>April 6, 2026 report from the payment card provider DeCard,</strong> which details that Argentina leads the <strong>&#8220;Stablecoin Readiness Index&#8221; with a perfect score of 100/100.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Some of the <strong>uses of these digital assets in Argentina include their use as a store of value, to cope not only with inflation but also with the devaluation of the peso, the official currency.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Furthermore, <strong>the South American nation currently surpasses Brazil in per capita adoption</strong>, boasting the &#8220;<strong>highest level of monthly active users</strong> and penetration per capita in the region.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In this regard,<strong> <a href="https://crypto-economy.com/es/argentina-comienza-a-probar-jpm-coin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stablecoins</a> are routinely accepted in more than 15,000 businesses, and the total transaction volume is estimated at 61.8 %.</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the <strong>BCRP</strong> official, who made the statements during the presentation of the March Inflation Report, indicating that &#8220;it will register <strong>a temporary spike in prices </strong>due to<strong> fuel rationing </strong>and the<strong> international impact of the conflict in Iran on oil.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Velarde anticipates a significant impact from the <strong>increase in gas and fuel prices, as well as food prices,</strong> “given the <strong>high weighting of the food basket </strong>in the Peruvian price index.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The rise in <strong>international oil prices</strong> directly impacts <strong>transportation costs, </strong>in addition to “key inputs for<strong> food production, such as grains and chicken.”</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In this context, the president of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) “highlighted that <strong>Peru maintains the lowest inflation in the region</strong> and that the<strong> projection for 2027 is 2 %, within the target range.”</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Regarding <strong>GDP growth,</strong> Velarde specified that, <strong>although it will be lower than last year&#8217;s, it will be above the previous projection,</strong> which in December stood at 3 %.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In conclusion, “the BCRP estimates <strong>GDP growth of 3.2 % in 2026 and 2027, accompanied by a rebound in private investment of 9.5 % in 2026 and 5 % in 2027.”</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Finally, the official addressed the <strong>public debt,</strong> estimating that it will reach <strong>29.3 % of GDP,</strong> with an increase in current spending.</p>

Nevertheless, <strong>crypto adoption continues to increase in Latin America and Central America</strong>, while <strong>regulations are tightening in Europe, Asia, and Australia.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Recent reports indicate that some <strong>270 cryptocurrency companies have applied to operate in El Salvador.</strong> This has been confirmed by <strong>Juan Carlos Reyes, president of the National Digital Assets Commission.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On the other hand, in <strong>Venezuela</strong>, which is undergoing political and economic change following the US intervention in January, <strong>a new boost in cryptocurrency mining is expected thanks to new OFAC licenses in the energy sector</strong> and <strong>Donald Trump&#8217;s decision to ease sanctions on the national electricity system.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Colombia,</strong> meanwhile, is <strong>finalizing the details of a cryptocurrency law,</strong> although without the participation of the industrial sector. At the same time, <strong>the banking sector is analyzing issues such as tokenization and digital assets.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Argentina</strong> is moving towards openness, with <strong>cryptocurrency adoption around 20 % and Jair Milei&#8217;s government</strong> authorizing <strong>traditional banks</strong> to offer <strong>digital asset services to their clients.</strong></p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Stricter regulations and prevention of cryptocurrency crime</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In Europe, <strong>Spain has tightened regulations.</strong> In this regard, the <strong>Spanish Tax Agency is now holding a public consultation on the new tax forms (042, 172, 175) for declaring cryptocurrencies,</strong> in order to comply with the <strong>regional regulation DAC8,</strong> from January of this year. The measure <strong>strengthens control over balances and transactions, as well as requiring platforms to automatically report them.</strong></p>
<figure id="attachment_120190" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-120190" style="width: 1100px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-120190 size-full" src="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/kanchanara-ow-rGjlqJkM-unsplash.jpg" alt="(Reference image source: Kanchanara on Unsplash)" width="1100" height="731" srcset="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/kanchanara-ow-rGjlqJkM-unsplash.jpg 1100w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/kanchanara-ow-rGjlqJkM-unsplash-300x199.jpg 300w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/kanchanara-ow-rGjlqJkM-unsplash-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/kanchanara-ow-rGjlqJkM-unsplash-768x510.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-120190" class="wp-caption-text">(Reference image source: Kanchanara on Unsplash)</figcaption></figure>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In <strong>Australia</strong>, on the other hand, <strong>crypto adoption is among the highest, at 23 % of the total.</strong> And although <strong>trading is entirely legal,</strong> in 2025 the <strong>Australian Senate passed the Companies Amendment Bill (Digital Asset Framework),</strong> which requires <strong>exchanges to hold a financial services license to protect users.</strong> Furthermore, the <strong>Australian Taxation Office (ATO) levies taxes on capital gains.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Asia</strong> maintains a strong stance in favor of <strong>strict regulatory compliance in countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and even Russia.</strong> Throughout the region, <strong>anti-money laundering regulations are rigorous,</strong> and penalties for violating domestic laws are severe.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">On <strong>the eve of 2026,</strong> <em>Unión Radio</em> interviewed <strong>Rafael Núñez Aponte,</strong> in his capacity as an expert on the subject; the dialogue revealed the relationship between the rise of e-commerce and cyberattacks in Venezuela, both for seasonal reasons and in general.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><strong>E-commerce in Venezuela has seen a 95% growth, which is actually a very positive thing,</strong> but the phenomenon has been exploited for negative purposes by cybercriminals, who have triggered a proportional increase in cyber-attack cases.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Rafael Núñez, director of </span><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-theme-font: major-fareast;"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/masqueseguridad/?hl=es" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MásQueSeguridad</a></span></strong><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"> <span lang="EN-US"><strong>and a cybersecurity specialist</strong>, explained that this high traffic creates more opportunities for cybercrime, as it uses this flow to spread malware and steal data.</span></span></p>
<figure id="attachment_118305" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-118305" style="width: 1100px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-118305 size-full" src="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/rafa.jpg" alt="Rafa Núñez emphasizes that resilience and digital ethics must be part of the essential safeguards for 2026" width="1100" height="618" srcset="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/rafa.jpg 1100w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/rafa-300x169.jpg 300w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/rafa-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/rafa-768x431.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-118305" class="wp-caption-text">Rafa Núñez emphasizes that resilience and digital ethics must be part of the essential safeguards for 2026</figcaption></figure>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">According to the expert, <strong>Venezuela&#8217;s position on the international geopolitical agenda</strong> also draws the attention of criminals from other countries who operate without borders.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">&#8211; Venezuela is in the news, so cybercriminals from any other country also come, we call their attention, and since there are no borders in the digital realm, they<strong> can launch attacks by fishing in troubled waters.</strong> What does that mean? Well, let&#8217;s see how Venezuela&#8217;s systems are, let&#8217;s see what IP addresses are and they start attacking remotely, details Núñez.</span></p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Cyberattacks and their methods</span></h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">One of the most common vectors of cyberattacks in the banking sector, for example, is<strong> phishing,</strong> a technique that uses identity theft to obtain, steal, confidential information, which Núñez calls &#8220;decoy traps.&#8221;This method is based on <strong>social engineering,</strong> defined s the art of tricking people&#8217;s cognitive biases into voluntarily giving up data.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Rafael Núñez points out that these cyberattacks use <strong>psychological manipulation through emails, text messages, WhatsApp, or Telegram.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">&#8220;They pose as a friend, an employee, or a trusted person, but they play with emotions (exploiting them); that is, psychological manipulation, using fear, joy, hurry, urgency, and people fall quickly,&#8221; he reasons.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">The Venezuelan expert warns that criminals have become more sophisticated in their methods, going so far as to<strong> block a user&#8217;s access to their bank, then calling them and impersonating the institution</strong> to ask for passwords or coordinate cards, data that &#8220;the bank will never ask for over the phone.&#8221;</span></p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">The rise of ransomware</span></h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">One of the main concerns currently for digital security in the country is the <strong>increase of ransomware cases by 30 % to 40 %.</strong> This technical term refers to a malicious computer program that blocks and encrypts a company&#8217;s information, then demands<strong> a ransom, usually in cryptocurrency,</strong> to release it and return things to normal.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">The specialist reveals and highlights preventively that this type of <strong>&#8220;virtual kidnapping&#8221; has already affected a large-scale telephone operator and a relevant private banking institution,</strong> with attacks that come mostly from Eastern Europe. Something that should undoubtedly prompt caution.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Given this reality, <span class="lookup-word">Núñez</span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">emphasizes</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">the</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">need</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">for</span></span></span><strong> immutable and encrypted backup systems</strong><span data-slate-leaf="true"><strong>, </strong><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">as</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">well</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">as</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">data</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">segmentation</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">, </span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">since</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true"> &#8220;</span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">nothing</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">is</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true"> 100% </span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">secure</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">&#8221; </span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">and</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">current</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">attacks</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">can</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">even</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">be</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">rented</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">, </span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">enhanced</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">, </span><span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">and</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">programmed</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">with</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">the</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">support</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">of</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">artificial</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true"> <span data-slate-leaf="true"><span data-slate-string="true">intelligence</span></span></span><span data-slate-leaf="true" data-slate-fragment="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"><span data-slate-string="true">.</span></span></p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Legislation and shortage of professionals</span></h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Institutionally, Núñez, who is also the director of security and a member of the board of the<strong> Venezuelan Chamber of E-commerce (Cavecom),</strong> said that legal reforms are being pushed forward.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">The current <strong>Law against Computer Crimes</strong> dates back to 2001, so new regulations are being proposed to<strong> regulate artificial intelligence and to classify modern crimes such as bullying, grooming, and cyberbullying.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">However, another obstacle is added to the convenient and necessary update of the legal framework: the lack of specialized human capital. Núñez emphasized that<strong> in Latin America, there is a shortage of nearly four million information security professionals.</strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">&#8220;Many times the bank asks for a <strong>CISO (Chief Information Security Officer)</strong> and it can&#8217;t be found,&#8221; he added.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Although there are academic programs at universities located in San Antonio de Los Altos and Maracay, the specialist insists that there is <strong>a need for greater impetus and training</strong> that generates enough professionals to meet the labor demand in this field.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">&#8220;I created <strong>a portal called másquecampus.com,</strong> with some <strong>updated and high-quality courses,</strong> but more initiatives and opportunities are needed. Personally, we attend, we go to international master&#8217;s programs, but there is still a need for more drive, not just in Venezuela, but in Latin America,&#8221; concludes expert Rafael Núñez Aponte.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em><a href="https://www.focus-economics.com/es/blog/que-le-espera-a-los-mercados-emergentes-en-2026/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Focus Economics</a></em> analysts have studied the <strong>situation in each group of countries</strong>, identifying some of the trends that will characterize them, at least at the beginning of 2026.</p>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Asia-Pacific:</strong> the region will remain <strong>one of the fastest growing economically,</strong> driven by sectors such as <strong>tourism, information technology and electronics,</strong> as well as <strong>business-friendly policies</strong>, high levels of education, and <strong>still robust population growth.</strong></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Latin America:</strong> It is likely to remain <strong>the slowest-growing emerging market next year,</strong> due in part to its<strong> relatively high GDP per capita.</strong> This “reduces the scope for rapid convergence growth.” <strong>Political instability, weak education systems, corruption, violence, and a limited presence in high-growth sectors</strong> will persist in the region.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Sub-Saharan Africa:</strong> This market is projected<strong> to surpass Asia-Pacific</strong> as the<strong> fastest-growing region globally</strong>, with sustained growth of<strong> 4.1 %.</strong> It will be marked by the <strong>world’s fastest population growth rate.</strong> As a result, annual growth is expected to reach 2.4 % by 2026, impacting regional output per capita.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Middle East and North Africa:</strong> The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) axis will experience <strong>rapid expansion in 2026, driven by increased OPEC oil production quotas.</strong></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Eastern Europe and Central Asia:</strong> According to analysts, this will be <strong>the second slowest-growing emerging market region in 2026, similar to Latin America,</strong> due in part to the fact that “many Eastern European economies — especially those belonging to the EU — are converging or <strong>have already converged toward GDP per capita levels of developed economies,</strong> leaving less room for convergence growth.” Furthermore, <strong>more moderate oil and gas prices compared to 2025</strong> could become a drawback by limiting public spending in energy-exporting countries.</li>
