This decision was made by Italy after the release of Italian political prisoners held in Venezuela. Tripodi highlighted “the positive evolution of relations, especially in light of the recent release of Italian citizens, which has contributed to reopening a more constructive dialogue between Rome and Caracas.”

Representatives from both countries discussed investment opportunities in the mining sector and the modernization of Venezuela’s industrial sector with the support of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Italy, for its part, expressed its “willingness to organize business missions and strengthen judicial cooperation in the fight against organized crime.”

In this regard, Tripodi stated: “Our two countries can embark on a new phase of bilateral relations, based on trust, economic growth, and concrete cooperation.”

Through this measure, implemented on December 4, Italians can carry a digital version of the aforementioned documents on their mobile devices. Last October, ITWallet tests were carried out on a group of 50,000 citizens, with satisfactory results.

“This digital wallet will allow people to carry personal identification documents such as ID cards, driver’s licenses, health cards or disability certificates on their mobile phones,” the authorities said.

Any adult will be able to download the Public Administration application, IO, to their phone or other mobile device and access it using the Public Digital Identity System (SPID) or the electronic identity card.

It is estimated that the application will soon be used by some 44.5 million Italians, who will also be able to “receive notifications about tax payments and other bureaucratic obligations.”

With this step, Italy is moving forward in adapting its systems with the “objective of integrating the Italian application into a future European Union digital identity portfolio (EUDI) by 2026.”

Firefighters found Lynch’s body inside the hull at a depth of 49 meters and are continuing the search for six other tourists of American and British nationality who, according to reports, were trapped in the cabins.

The Italian Coast Guard intervened in this sinking involving a sailboat approximately 50 meters in length that was carrying 22 people; 10 crew and 12 passengers.

In a statement, they reported that they managed to rescue 15 people. “The first castaways, rescued by a ship present in the vicinity, were taken ashore by four Coast Guard boats. According to some media, the body that has been recovered would be that of a member of the crew who worked as a cook and has Canadian nationality, although born on the island of Antigua.”

The wife of Lynch, the 59-year-old British businessman, is among the 15 people rescued after the shipwreck that occurred at 05:00 local time (03:00 GMT on Monday). The cause of the shipwreck would have been a tornado that hit the area and broke the main mast, causing an imbalance that later caused it to sink.

According to Bitpanda’s announcement, the strategy will be extended to other countries, such as Italy, France or Switzerland, to facilitate transactions for fintech clients.

The objective is to expand its offer of payment methods, “which include Apple Pay, SEPA bank transfers, as well as credit and debit cards.”

Mireya Fernández, who was recently named Country Lead of Southern Europe and CEE, has indicated: “including PayPal to the Bitpanda ecosystem as another free deposit option for our users in Spain is another example of our attention and commitment to the experience of the user. Something fundamental to strengthen our leadership in the market. “We are proud to offer our Spanish customers this additional extra of comfort and safety.”

The new payment option for Spaniards, through the association of Bitpanda and PayPal, means speed, simplicity and confidence in each deposit and withdrawal, without commissions.

With this announcement, the platform also announced the increase in the daily credit card limit, which went from 10,000 to 20,000 euros.

The invention, which has been nominated by Time magazine as Invention of the Year, is the result of the work of Mario Caironi, a researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT).

He has a doctorate in Electronic Engineering and has been researching “the electronic properties of food and its derivatives with the aim of developing medical sensors that can be ingested without side effects and that are processed by our body just as food is digested.”

Their work is immersed in research aimed at the development of “edible electronics”, which could contribute to significant advances in medicine.

The prototype of this edible and rechargeable battery has funding from the European Research Council, for 2 million euros, and has received great global attention. To make it digestible, the researcher managed to combine certain elements of nature.

“The battery designed by his team is entirely made with edible components: vitamin B2 or riboflavin – extracted from almonds – acts as an anode and quercetin obtained from capers as a cathode. To increase conductivity, activated carbon is used, sold in pharmacies, while its electrolyte is water-based and the separator that prevents short circuits consists of nori seaweed like those that wrap sushi.” All of this is wrapped in a tube of beeswax “from which two contacts of edible gold emerge, the same one that pastry chefs use for decorations.”

As Caironi explained to the EFE agency, the operation of the prototype is the same as a conventional battery, with its positive and negative poles, integrated into a circuit that transforms chemical energy into electrical energy.

“According to the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), the promoter of the research, the battery operates at 0.65 V, a voltage low enough not to cause problems to the human body if ingested, and is capable of providing a current of 48 μA for 12 minutes.” This charge is enough, according to the developer engineer, to power devices as small as low-power LEDs.
