The technology giant Microsoft will officially close its iconic Internet Explorer browser starting June 15 to make way for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer Mode with better features.

When Internet Explorer was released, it quickly became the most widely used and comprehensive web browser. However, over the years it has become one of the “most hated” programs and which has been starred in “more memes”; so in mid-June the Microsoft company will stop offering support for its desktop app.

With this decision, the company wants the few people who still use this browser to stop doing so and change their experience to the Microsoft Edge and Explorer Mode programs so that they can appreciate the advantages and options that these applications have.

As it will be remembered, the technological giant at the end of 2020 “made a drastic decision that encouraged many Internet Explorer users to change their browser”. At that time, “the company decided to block, for security reasons, several web pages in IE.”

The announced shutdown of this browser will take place on some versions of Windows 10, specifically version 20H2 or later. People who still have the Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 version installed on their computers will be able to use it.
