Bancamiga reaffirms its commitment to education, innovation, and the empowerment of young students with its support for the most recent edition of Technovation Girls Venezuela. In this inspiring initiative, more than 350 young Venezuelan students, between the ages of 15 and 18, immersed themselves in the world of technology and entrepreneurship to develop innovative solutions to problems in their communities.

Technovation Girls is a global competition that invites teams of young people to identify problems in their communities and develop mobile applications to solve them. Over 18 weeks of mentoring and learning, participants acquire crucial skills in programming, innovation, business, marketing, and leadership.

“Bancamiga’s participation as a strategic partner of Technovation Girls Venezuela underscores the bank’s vision of fostering the development of young women in the country in key areas such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, to encourage them to pursue careers in these fields,” said José Simón Elarba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal.

Supporting New Generations

The program is aimed at adolescents from vulnerable communities and working-class communities, so they can join the largest global technology competition, with the participation of young people from 100 other countries, highlights Claudia Valladares, Ambassador of the Technovation Girls Venezuela chapter.

“The support of institutions like Bancamiga is extremely important, precisely because we need the collaboration of many corporations and companies to join us in investing in the future of our generations, so that they can be at the forefront of technology,” added Valladares.

Technovation Girls Venezuela concludes with an exciting day of project presentations, where teams demonstrate their creativity, ingenuity, and the potential impact of their applications.

The topics covered are diverse, reflecting the concerns and interests of young women, from solutions to improve education and health to initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and social inclusion.

Ámbar Córdoba and her team of colleagues developed the Smart Finances app, with which they hope “to empower vulnerable people and give them the freedom to generate income.”

“We decided to design an app to help low-income people in Caracas with limited access to medicines and medical care. Our app will organize donations of supplies and facilitate access to hospitals,” explained the Vita Tech team members.
