Through Official Gazette number 43,032, the government of Venezuela, through the National Service of Customs and Tax Administration (Seniat), established the provisions for digital billing of natural and legal persons, public or private, who make online sales.

The informality of sales through platforms such as Marketplace and all those made through social networks in Venezuelan territory will be regulated.

The initial statement on the measure, disseminated through the media, emphasizes that this is an important advance for the national economy, as it will contribute to tax collection.

People who simultaneously make sales using the digital method must register them separately in the Sales Book.

About 70 % of the jobs generated from mid-2020 to the first quarter of 2021 in several Latin American countries have been in informal conditions, according to a new report by the International Labor Organization (ILO), which has called for face the uneven impact of the health crisis in the region through “more and better jobs.”

In this sense, the organization warned that the reactivation of the Latin American and Caribbean economies is still insufficient to recover the jobs lost during the pandemic, which has led to a labor market with high unemployment rates and a strong predominance of informal jobs.

“Neither the quantity nor the quality of jobs that this region requires to face the aftermath of an unprecedented crisis are being generated. The labor outlook is complex and poses challenges of great magnitude,” said the ILO director for the Americas. Latin America and the Caribbean, Vinícius Pinheiro.

Pinheiro pointed out that this year informal jobs are leading the job recovery, something negative for the Latin American labor market since jobs “are generally unstable, with low wages, without social or rights protection.”
