The sustained slowdown in the CPI has allowed the strengthening of purchasing power and economic predictability.

Pérez emphasized in an official statement that “the stabilization of the foreign exchange market has been the fundamental anchor for this achievement. Thanks to a plan that includes a foreign exchange intervention of more than $1.35 billion for the month of May, the central bank guarantees the necessary fluidity and lubrication for the national productive sector.”

Pérez underscored that Venezuela is currently positioned as the fastest-growing economy in Latin America this year, and cited projections from several international organizations: ECLAC places Venezuela’s growth at 6.5 %; the UNDP forecasts a GDP increase of 7.4 %; and the International Monetary Fund estimates growth of 4 % for 2026 and up to 6 % for 2027.

In an official statement, the Federal Reserve indicated that inflation in the United States is high, adding that “developments in the Middle East are contributing to a high level of uncertainty about the economic outlook.”

State-level representatives noted that due to the conflict with Iran, the Fed is currently facing the price of oil above $100 a barrel, as well as increased fuel costs and a rising unemployment rate.

Regarding the transition after Warsh’s confirmation by the Senate, it is hoped that it will bring some calm to the problems facing the US economy.

Capozzolo said in an interview with the program Dos más Dos on Unión Radio that they hope their proposal will be considered by government authorities. He also emphasized that, regarding communication with the Executive branch, “there must be fluid relations to address difficult issues” and make progress on matters such as energy, public services, electricity, financing, inflation, and taxes paid by the private sector.

According to Capozzolo, it is essential to review the conditions of tax and parafiscal obligations in the country, considering that businesses want access to “digital assets, to create more jobs, generate exportable goods, penetrate new markets, and this would require building agreements, and this must be done directly with the national government.”

In this way, according to the executive, companies commit to generating 70 % of jobs and 50 % of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in non-oil goods.

However, “the governing body emphasized that the impact of tariffs on prices is still uncertain and that high levels of inflation could be more persistent than expected.”

During the last meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members of the United States Federal Reserve (Fed), on September 17, they indicated their willingness to lower interest rates again this year, although with some fear that inflation could pick up.

The majority of participants in the meeting indicated that “it would be appropriate to further ease policy during the remainder of the year,” without neglecting the upside risks to their inflation outlook.

In the committee vote, those responsible for national monetary policy voted 11 to 1 for a 25 basis point reduction in interest rates “and leaving them in the range of 4% to 4.25%, the first cut in 2025.”

The results of last month’s meeting on macroeconomic projections left the path is open to “two more quarter-point cuts by the end of the year within their baseline scenario. However, six of the 19 participants projected one cut or none at all.”

On the other hand, last month’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased to 0.04 % compared to August. The items that showed the greatest increase were recreation and culture (0.17 %); healthcare, restaurants, and hotels (both at 0.15 %); miscellaneous goods and services (0.13 %); and furniture, household goods, and home improvement (0.05 %).

The National Institute of Statistics (INEI) also revealed in its report that the cumulative variation for the year is 1.15 %. However, inflation in the Latin American country remains within the 1 % to 3 % range set by the Central Bank of Lima.

Regarding the Consumer Price Index for Metropolitan Limait stood at 0.01 % in September and 1.25 % for the year. Year-over-year inflation was 1.36 %.,

Data on inflation by city indicate that “three cities registered rates above 2%, with Ica standing out at 2.28 %, followed by Tumbes at 2.09 % and Piura at 2.03 %.”

Of the 26 cities where the Consumer Price Index is calculated, 15 reported price increases, with the largest increases in Puerto Maldonado (0.38 %), Puno (0.31 %), Arequipa (0.29 %), and Piura (0.26 %).
