In various LA countries “the so-called digital dollars are beginning to be used to pay, save and send money, beyond crypto trading.”

Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina set the trend in the region in terms of the adoption of payment systems based on “digital wallets, QR codes, cards”, as well as increasingly efficient and secure applications and platforms.

The currencies of these countries are converted to stablecoins such as USDT or USDC or cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.

Traditional banking users now see digital assets as an everyday means of payment, not as a means of investment. The growth in the use of stablecoins in Latin America is linked to “specific needs: protecting purchasing power, moving money between countries, accessing a more stable unit of account and making payments without always depending on the traditional banking system.” Added to this is sending money to relatives in other countries in the format of remittances.

According to the FOMC’s statement, “productivity and capital investment remain strong, while job gains are keeping pace with the labor force.”

Regarding the unemployment rate in the country, the FOMC noted slight changes in recent months. The Fed also confirmed that it will maintain ample reserves in the banking system, a strategy to provide liquidity.

Despite improvements in some indicators, inflation continues its upward trend and remains above the 2 % target, “driven in part by supply shocks that have raised prices in sectors such as energy.”

The committee stated that the economy “continues to show resilience, although it acknowledged that the international situation adds short-term risks.”

The sustained slowdown in the CPI has allowed the strengthening of purchasing power and economic predictability.

Pérez emphasized in an official statement that “the stabilization of the foreign exchange market has been the fundamental anchor for this achievement. Thanks to a plan that includes a foreign exchange intervention of more than $1.35 billion for the month of May, the central bank guarantees the necessary fluidity and lubrication for the national productive sector.”

Pérez underscored that Venezuela is currently positioned as the fastest-growing economy in Latin America this year, and cited projections from several international organizations: ECLAC places Venezuela’s growth at 6.5 %; the UNDP forecasts a GDP increase of 7.4 %; and the International Monetary Fund estimates growth of 4 % for 2026 and up to 6 % for 2027.

Capozzolo said in an interview with the program Dos más Dos on Unión Radio that they hope their proposal will be considered by government authorities. He also emphasized that, regarding communication with the Executive branch, “there must be fluid relations to address difficult issues” and make progress on matters such as energy, public services, electricity, financing, inflation, and taxes paid by the private sector.

According to Capozzolo, it is essential to review the conditions of tax and parafiscal obligations in the country, considering that businesses want access to “digital assets, to create more jobs, generate exportable goods, penetrate new markets, and this would require building agreements, and this must be done directly with the national government.”

In this way, according to the executive, companies commit to generating 70 % of jobs and 50 % of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in non-oil goods.
