At its launch, Optimus was 1.73 meters tall and weighed 57 kilograms. It is known to be “equipped with a series of sensors and cameras that allow it to imitate human movements with precision.”

Its capacity allowed it to carry up to 20 kilograms and move at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour.

The updated version has sensors designed by Tesla, is 10 kilograms lighter, and its walking speed is 30 % higher.

Its design allows it to recognize objects, perform tasks autonomously, as well as navigate through different environments.

It is an idea that Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, was already considering in 2013. Now it seems that it will become a reality, according to the announcement, which also foresees a third country, the United States, at the end of next year.

As a background to this upcoming implementation, there is the use of drones for commercial deliveries from “the end of 2022 in the sparsely populated towns of Lockeford, California, and College Station in Texas, to deliver packages of up to 2.25 kilos and in less than an hour.”

For the premiere of Amazon Prime Air in Europe, the company will use a new drone, the MK30, which is lighter and smaller than the previous one, the MK27-2. Additionally, the new model is significantly quieter.

As indicated by Amazon, these models “can land in smaller patios (although the products are launched 10 meters without touching the ground), and can fly in light rain and sudden winds, essential so that customers can choose the delivery wisely. drones more frequently.”

Takeoff and landing with these drones are vertical and are equipped with sensors to avoid collisions with planes, people, and pets.

Two additional Amazon innovations worth mentioning are the implementation of a humanoid robot that can move around while picking up packages and a new packaging machine that records product dimensions to create a custom paper bag.

The robot, considered the most advanced so far, “predicted that humanity will be in a much better position than it is today, driven by advances in sustainability and equity, thanks to the creation of technologies that will improve everyday life. Additionally, Ameca envisions humanity moving beyond the confines of Earth to explore other worlds.”

Ameca suggests that humans will seek to colonize other places in the galaxy, furthering space exploration. “Exploring the unknown” is something that this robot is also passionate about.

Beyond any controversial, viral “statement” on social networks, it is important to remember that the humanoid robot is “an artificial intelligence program that uses a huge stack of documents to give more or less elaborate answers and that often contradict each other depending on the context in which it moves”, according to the newspaper La Vanguardia.

The company reported on the creation during the launch event of its new folding phone, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, with this announcement the company has expanded its product catalog in other directions.

This was explained by Lei Jun, CEO of the company, who expressed “the development of this robot is “a symbol of Xiaomi’s dedication to incubate a centralized technological ecosystem and connect it with the world in ways never seen before”.

The manufacturer has recognized that, during the research process, it combined cutting-edge technologies from different sectors, including biomechatronics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), ‘big data’ and bionic cognition.

CyberOne recognizes the environment and maintains its balance

The CyberOne robot is equipped with advanced arms and legs and is capable of supporting up to 1.5 kg of weight in one hand, supports up to 21 degrees of freedom of movement and achieves a real-time response speed of 0.5 ms.

Because it integrates a bipedal control algorithm, the robot can maintain balance when in motion and uses a self-developed MiSense depth module combined with an AI interaction algorithm for recognition of its surroundings.

The robot, which has a design in black and white tones, is capable of perceiving 3D space, as well as recognizing individuals, gestures and expressions. It is equipped with a self-developed environmental semantics recognition engine and a MiAI vocal human emotion identification engine.

Thanks to these technologies, the humanoid robot can recognize 85 types of environmental sounds and identify up to 45 classifications of human emotions. In fact, it is capable of detecting happiness and even comforting a person in moments of sadness.

All of these functionalities are integrated into CyberOne’s processing units, which are combined with a curved OLED module to display interactive information in real time.
