The android was first released in 2021 under the name Tesla Bot, and was conceived to perform the “repetitive, dangerous or boring tasks” that humans currently perform.

At its launch, Optimus was 1.73 meters tall and weighed 57 kilograms. It is known to be “equipped with a series of sensors and cameras that allow it to imitate human movements with precision.”

Its capacity allowed it to carry up to 20 kilograms and move at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour.

The updated version has sensors designed by Tesla, is 10 kilograms lighter, and its walking speed is 30 % higher.

Its design allows it to recognize objects, perform tasks autonomously, as well as navigate through different environments.

For the premiere of Amazon Prime Air in Europe, the company will use a new drone, the MK30, which is lighter and smaller than the previous one, the MK27-2. Additionally, the new model is significantly quieter.

Xiaomi presents its first humanoid robot CyberOne, a device that stands 1.77 meters tall and weighs 52 kilos, which includes a word recognition engine and is capable of identifying different types of voices, human emotions and environmental sounds.

The company reported on the creation during the launch event of its new folding phone, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, with this announcement the company has expanded its product catalog in other directions.

This was explained by Lei Jun, CEO of the company, who expressed “the development of this robot is “a symbol of Xiaomi’s dedication to incubate a centralized technological ecosystem and connect it with the world in ways never seen before”.

The manufacturer has recognized that, during the research process, it combined cutting-edge technologies from different sectors, including biomechatronics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), ‘big data’ and bionic cognition.

CyberOne recognizes the environment and maintains its balance

The CyberOne robot is equipped with advanced arms and legs and is capable of supporting up to 1.5 kg of weight in one hand, supports up to 21 degrees of freedom of movement and achieves a real-time response speed of 0.5 ms.

Because it integrates a bipedal control algorithm, the robot can maintain balance when in motion and uses a self-developed MiSense depth module combined with an AI interaction algorithm for recognition of its surroundings.

The robot, which has a design in black and white tones, is capable of perceiving 3D space, as well as recognizing individuals, gestures and expressions. It is equipped with a self-developed environmental semantics recognition engine and a MiAI vocal human emotion identification engine.

Thanks to these technologies, the humanoid robot can recognize 85 types of environmental sounds and identify up to 45 classifications of human emotions. In fact, it is capable of detecting happiness and even comforting a person in moments of sadness.

All of these functionalities are integrated into CyberOne’s processing units, which are combined with a curved OLED module to display interactive information in real time.
