The President of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga, José Simón Elarba, affirms that “investing in health is a fundamental pillar for the country’s development.” This is why, with its Social Responsibility strategy, the bank reaffirms its commitment to Venezuela and the well-being of Venezuelans by completing four years of sustained support for the Dr. Domingo Luciani Hospital.

This strategic alliance has enabled the modernization of equipment, infrastructure improvements, and the strengthening of surgical capacity at one of the country’s most important healthcare centers, benefiting thousands of people who visit this medical institution, Elarba adds.

Since 2023, the financial institution has focused its efforts on equipping the hospital with cutting-edge technology and specialized tools, understanding that health is a fundamental area of ​​care.

“Bancamiga’s history of contributions to the hospital reflects planned management oriented toward the critical needs of the healthcare center, helping to guarantee access to the human right to health,” emphasizes the Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors.

The financial institution began this social responsibility policy with the donation of a translucent surgical bed and a high-tech resectoscope for procedures in the urology and gynecology departments.

The hospital was also provided with 93 pieces of stainless steel surgical instruments (manufactured in Germany) and a specialized kit for the bariatric surgery program. In addition, infrastructure recovery plans were initiated, and direct banking services were provided to medical personnel at their workplaces.

Ongoing support

In 2024, Bancamiga’s efforts focused on two other strategic areas. The institution donated three boxes of specialized surgical instruments for traumatology and orthopedics, areas of extremely high demand in both emergency and elective surgeries.

Another important milestone was the donation of 42 pieces of radiation protection equipment (lead aprons, masks, and goggles, among others), ensuring the safety of medical personnel and patients in the radiology department, as well as during medium- and high-complexity procedures.

The following year, the provision of equipment to the health center included three-position electric beds and multiparameter monitors for monitoring vital signs. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art lesion generator was delivered, enabling pain management through frequency radiation therapy, an innovative therapeutic option for patients at the Domingo Luciani Hospital.

José Simón Elarba emphasizes that “in 2026, Bancamiga maintained its support for the hospital, contributing decisively to the operational efficiency of the surgical area” by carrying out specialized repair and maintenance work on the operating room climate control system.

This project—which included preventive and corrective maintenance of the cooling units—guarantees asepsis and optimal conditions in the surgical area, ensuring the continuity of procedures and the operational capacity of the healthcare center.

“Our mission goes beyond offering financial services. With our social commitment, we seek to positively transform the environment where we operate. The Domingo Luciani Hospital is a benchmark for healthcare, and Bancamiga is proud to invest in the health of Venezuelans and contribute to ensuring that its medical staff has the necessary tools to save lives,” he stated.

Beyond the equipment, Bancamiga’s commitment has had a human face. Over the years, executives and brand ambassadors have visited the facilities, especially the pediatric ward, bringing messages of hope and joy to the children hospitalized there.

With these actions, Bancamiga reaffirms its commitment to social investment as a long-term endeavor, focused on expanding access to healthcare and strengthening the institutions that serve Venezuelans.
