The official indicated that these are two projects in the hotel sector “with national capital investment.”

“The projects are Camurí Mar Beach Club, designed with 18 double-story cabins, at the moment it is 40% complete, also the Bahía Sunset Ecological Boutique Hotel, which uses discarded containers and converts them into cabins, to date they have a 35% execution,” declared Álvarez.

The developments in the state of La Guaira, where the country’s main port and the Maiquetía International Airport are located, are supported by national investment and seek to enhance local and international tourism in the state.

Under the franchise modality, Accor has strengthened its presence in the region, opening new hotels in different countries. This was highlighted in a recent online event by Mauro Rial, COO North & Hispanic Americas – Premium, Midscale and Economy Brands, and Luis Mirabelli, VP Development South America (PME Hispanic Countries).

Rial highlighted: “In Latin America we have a leadership position, with great strength in Brazil, and we seek to transfer it to the entire region. Accor’s objective is to maintain the successful business model that we have as a focus on franchises, with a portfolio today in the region of 60% managed properties and 40% franchised.”

Tourism is resurging after the progressive removal of restrictions imposed by the pandemic. Likewise, people’s interest in traveling promises a return to pre-pandemic hotel occupancy rates. Accor wants to make the most of its presence in leisure and corporate travel destinations.

The French group has hotels in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and, more recently, Mexico. It has a wide portfolio, with more than 40 brands and more than a million rooms available.

Hungary quickly inoculated its population with Russian and Chinese vaccines and began issuing “immunity certificates” from March. In May, these cards were used to reopen hotels, theaters, movie theaters and the interior of restaurants. Despite lifting many restrictions, certificates are still needed for covering the needs of more than 500 people.

For its part, in Denmark the health passport continues to be mandatory to access various public places such as hairdressers or gyms. Whereas, in Austria, since mid-May when the general reopening took place, to enter hotels, restaurants, gyms, museums, concerts, hairdressers and sporting events it is mandatory to present a negative test, an antibody certificate or a vaccination test.

At the end of July, the health pass became mandatory in France to enter cultural and leisure establishments that serve more than 50 people and from this Sunday is extended to cafes, restaurants, airplanes, trains, buses for long trips and professional fairs.
