Hyundai Motor Group, an automotive corporation originating in South Korea, launched HTWO, its brand and business platform dedicated to hydrogen, during the H2&FC EXPO (held in Japan), reaffirming its vision for a “future driven by and featuring clean energy.”

At this exhibition, Hyundai showcased its leadership in hydrogen technologies across the entire value chain, from production to its application in mobility solutions.

What is HTWO?

HTWO is Hyundai Motor Group’s hydrogen brand, designed as a comprehensive platform offering complete solutions within the hydrogen ecosystem.

This initiative integrates the Group’s capabilities in:

• Production
• Storage
• Distribution
• Energy Application

It also serves as an open platform for collaboration, investment, and strategic partnerships, accelerating the transition to a future hydrogen-based society.

During the event, held at Tokyo Big Sight (Japan), attendees and visitors were able to learn about a wide range of innovations developed by Hyundai Motor Group, such as:

• Hydrogen-Powered Trams
• Fuel Cell Electric Buses and Trucks
• Fuel Cell Systems
• Automatic Hydrogen Refueling Robot (ACRH)

The Iconic and Surprising NEXO

Furthermore, at the Japan Mobility Show, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the all-new NEXO model, an advanced fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), marking its debut in Japan and underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and innovations related to the use of hydrogen.

To clarify, the Hyundai NEXO is a hydrogen-powered vehicle. It uses a fuel cell that converts hydrogen into electricity to power an electric motor, emitting only water vapor. It is an advanced and extraordinary example of sustainable mobility.

The new NEXO joins Hyundai Motor’s extensive portfolio of electric models showcased in Tokyo, including the INTEROID concept car, the award-winning IONIQ 5, and the INSTER Cross. Together, this range highlights Hyundai’s electrification capabilities and its commitment to offering innovative mobility solutions that meet the demands of a constantly evolving automotive landscape.

International media outlets and analysts have noted that Hyundai has undertaken its largest public activation of the brand and its products in the Japanese market to date. Hyundai Motor aims to share, explain, and inform about its vision for electrification and hydrogen effectively that resonates with Japanese consumers.
