Google released the fourth beta of Android 12, marking the beginning of the last phase of the operating system before its general distribution in the fall, after achieving stability and allowing developers to check compatibility with their applications.

The fourth beta focuses on the stability and compatibility of the applications. That is, the platform will no longer change between now and its launch, and developers can verify that their applications run correctly in the new version, as explained by the company on the official blog.

Android 12 will arrive in a few months together with the Pixel 6 family of smartphones. It will debut a new design language, Material You, focused on enhancing customization, with new color palettes, greater dynamism of light when unlocking the screen or redesigned elements such as “widgets” or notifications.

It will also incorporate new features in security and privacy, like the “Closed Folder” for Photos, protected with a password, or the new Privacy Panel and the AI ​​model that improves interactions with its services that shows a timeline when the applications accessed the camera or microphone, and indicators that show when the camera or microphone is in use.

Along with the beta 4 of Android 12, Google also updated the Camera application (v8.3.252), as indicated in 9to5Google, which includes in its code references to Pixel 6 and Samsung’s GN1 camera sensor, the 50 megapixel sensor of the South Korean company with Dual Pixel and Tetracell technologies.
