In a meeting held this Saturday in the city of Kingston, China and Jamaica highlighted the positive results of bilateral cooperation, which has allowed progress in different projects in areas such as education, trade, technology, science, economy and agriculture, among others.

The meeting was attended by “the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, Kamina Johnson Smith.”

During the important meeting, both officials “highlighted the fruitful results of bilateral cooperation.” China’s assistance projects to the Caribbean country have been based on respect and mutual trust, in addition to being focused on the greatest benefit for citizens.

Kamina Johnson Smith stressed that “Jamaica values ​​China’s experience in governance and has been strengthening economic development planning and striving to eliminate poverty,” adding that her country “hopes to expand bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, economy and trade, agriculture, education, science and technology, while developing a strong strategic partnership with China.”

For his part, Wang declared that despite the geographical separation between both nations, they are united by a deep tradition of cooperation and friendly exchanges, since the first immigrants from China arrived in Jamaica 170 years ago.

Bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful results, “bringing tangible benefits to both peoples,” said Wang, who highlighted his country’s willingness to continue supporting Jamaica “in accelerating development and national revitalization, to write a new chapter.” of the friendship between China and Jamaica and achieve new achievements in mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.”
