Brazil launched the “Janela Única de Investimentos” (Single Investment Window) portal, through which it will seek to attract international investment, reduce licensing procedures, and facilitate business creation.

According to the government announcement, the portal centralizes all the services, opportunities, and guidance needed for investors, promising to “reduce the time required to obtain licenses and documents by 35 %, in addition to increasing the volume of international resources by 12 %.”

The tool is structured around three main areas: “services for investors, provision of data and statistics, and promotion of the benefits that Brazil offers to investors.” It is planned to facilitate the opening of companies, investor visas, and support for key sectors such as biofuels and infrastructure. Furthermore, services related to patents and social security are expected to be included in the future.

In this regard, Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, stated that the country will be more attractive to global investors and added: “We are firmly committed to reducing costs, timelines, and bureaucracy, to providing tax breaks for investments, and to making life easier for those who want to produce and generate wealth, employment, and income in the country.”

In addition to this technological initiative, a decree was signed creating a program to offer legal assistance to international investors in the South American nation.
