The Russian government extended the ban on retailers exporting gasoline until the end of this year.

The measure was issued following recent Ukrainian drone attacks on several Russian refineries, which led to the extension of the ban to protect the facilities.

The decision is also aimed at stabilizing the domestic market, following several weeks of Ukrainian attacks on the country’s refineries.

The government detailed that “the restrictions on the export of gasoline for transportation will be in effect until December 31, 2025.” A ban on “the export of diesel, marine fuel, and other types of petroleum products, including those purchased on the exchange,” is also included.

The country has been forced to impose these restrictions due to “rising fuel prices on the international market, which encouraged Russian companies to increase gasoline and diesel exports, which led to higher prices.”
