This innovative feature, initially implemented in Android version 2.23.11.15 in May this year, makes it easier to find other users without the need to share contact numbers.

Following the success on the Android platform, the company decided to extend this option to iOS devices through the 23.20.1.71 beta in October. Now, according to WABetaInfo, the feature is being incorporated into the web version of WhatsApp. It is important to note that users will have the flexibility to change their username at any time.

This extra layer of security gives users the ability to communicate with each other without compromising or sharing their personal contact details. Although the exact date of implementation of this tool on the web platform has not yet been announced, this novelty promises to improve the experience and privacy of users on WhatsApp.

The instant messaging platform continues to implement functions to improve the user experience, on this occasion, providing a way to highlight messages and leave them fixed in the chat, keeping relevant information accessible or that is usually used in a snap. view.

In this sense, WhatsApp is testing a new function that allows messages to be pinned to the top of chats for a period of up to 30 days, as WaBetaInfo was able to verify from update 2.23.21.4 for version Android beta.

Specifically, the service owned by Meta implemented a new action of pinning messages in the chat, available within the options that appear in the message’s menu. Thus, users will be able to pin a message to the top of the conversation for a specific period of time, choosing between 24 hours, seven days or 30 days.

This makes it easier to highlight information within a chat, regardless of whether it is a group conversation or an individual chat. In addition, the pinned message can be discarded at any time, without having to wait for the chosen duration period to end. This is a function similar to that existing in other instant messaging services such as Telegram.

In addition to the option to pin messages, WhatsApp is also testing a redesign of the attachment sending menu, which now has a simpler and more modern style, as shared by the same media in a screenshot.

With this new menu design, icons continue to be displayed for each type of file that can be shared, however, they are displayed with a simpler icon format and framed in a square, leaving behind their round shape. In this way, the platform aims to facilitate the use of the attachment sending menu, with clearer and more intuitive access.

At the moment, the ability to pin messages and the menu redesign are available to a limited group of testers who have the WhatsApp beta version 2.23.21.4 update for Android.

The Meta microblogging platform, which was launched in July of this year in some countries such as the United States, continues to introduce new features to improve the user experience, such as the ability to search for publications through keywords, which company announced in September.

Within this framework, Threads plans to expand the search function by introducing a trends feed in which the main trends on the platform will be displayed, as a company employee mistakenly announced in a publication.

This publication, which was finally deleted, has been picked up by application developer William Max, who has once again shared the screenshot that shows what the Threads trends ‘feed’ will look like.

Thus, as can be seen, the social network will incorporate this function in the Threads search tab, and will show the main topics that are trending in real time, accompanied by the figure of the number of publications that are being shared on said topic in question.

The new WhatsApp Conditions and Privacy policy will take effect on May 15th, but it will no longer be necessary to accept it to continue using the service, although the company will continue to display reminders.

WhatsApp began to show a notification in January for users to accept the new terms before February 8, although days later it postponed its launch until May 15th, given the amount of rumors and misinformation that emerged in relation to this upgrade.

It is a message in which WhatsApp notifies of changes in the service about the data collected by the users’ own application and its treatment, as well as about the way in which businesses can use Facebook’s hosted services to store and manage your WhatsApp chats.

One of the most controversial points of this message was the requirement of having to accept the new policies in order to continue using WhatsApp. That is, if they were not accepted before May 15th, the company could delete the accounts after that date.

However, in a statement collected by The Next Web, WhatsApp has changed its criteria and now ensures that it will not delete the accounts nor will anyone lose the functionality of the service. “While the majority of users who have received the new terms of service have accepted them, we have appreciated that some people have not had the opportunity to do so yet,” the company explains.
