Specifically, the service owned by Meta implemented a new action of pinning messages in the chat, available within the options that appear in the message’s menu. Thus, users will be able to pin a message to the top of the conversation for a specific period of time, choosing between 24 hours, seven days or 30 days.

This makes it easier to highlight information within a chat, regardless of whether it is a group conversation or an individual chat. In addition, the pinned message can be discarded at any time, without having to wait for the chosen duration period to end. This is a function similar to that existing in other instant messaging services such as Telegram.

In addition to the option to pin messages, WhatsApp is also testing a redesign of the attachment sending menu, which now has a simpler and more modern style, as shared by the same media in a screenshot.

With this new menu design, icons continue to be displayed for each type of file that can be shared, however, they are displayed with a simpler icon format and framed in a square, leaving behind their round shape. One of the most controversial points of this message was the requirement of having to accept the new policies in order to continue using WhatsApp. That is, if they were not accepted before May 15th, the company could delete the accounts after that date.

However, in a statement collected by The Next Web, WhatsApp has changed its criteria and now ensures that it will not delete the accounts nor will anyone lose the functionality of the service. “While the majority of users who have received the new terms of service have accepted them, we have appreciated that some people have not had the opportunity to do so yet,” the company explains.
