A Spanish software developer, whose name is being withheld, created the open-source operating system Free95 compatible with Windows.

It is in its initial stages, and it is too early to know if it will become an alternative to the world’s leading operating system. However, its creator has indicated that it is lighter and faster than ReactOS and that it will offer future support for DirectX and games in the future.

The creation of Free95 was published on GitHub via Reddit by its developer “with the aim of offering a lighter and more secure alternative to traditional operating systems.”

What is known is that the open source system is “capable of running basic Win32 console and GUI applications, and its evolution could be a game-changer.”
