In a forum held by the Venezuelan Finance Observatory, with the participation of specialists and academics, the economic scenario for the country in 2025 was analyzed, with projections of a scenario marked by inflation and the exchange rate.

The specialists “agreed that 2025 will be a complicated year for Venezuela in economic matters with very modest growth and a rise in the exchange rate and inflation that will again impact the purchasing power of citizens.”

The president of the Academy of Economic and Social Sciences, Dr. Leonardo Vera, and the director of the School of Economics at the University of Carabobo, Ana Isabel Belmonte, presented the scenarios that Venezuela could face next year.

They stressed that 2025 will be complicated for Venezuela. The last quarter of 2024 “presents a difficult situation, on the one hand there is the political climate and on the other hand the breakdown of the exchange rate anchor regime, which apparently they are modifying for another type of exchange rate policy,” according to Vera.

Belmonte argued that “the policies to control inflation in recent years have sacrificed national economic growth, and this slowdown in the last quarter of 2024 is a negative consequence of this scheme.”

Added to all this is the issue of the parity of the official and parallel exchange rates as well as the downward trend in the price of oil.

Both Leonardo Vera and Ana Isabel Belmonte see 2025 with slow economic growth, or very limited, and an increase in inflation above 60 %.

The event, held in alliance with the Sucre Mayor’s Office in Miranda state, brought together more than 100 microentrepreneurs at the La Pizarra Cultural Center, located in Los Dos Caminos, Caracas.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about business models, value proposition, financial management, sales and Bancamiga’s value proposition for entrepreneurs.

“Bancamiga continues to train Venezuelans so that they have the necessary tools to strengthen and promote their ventures. We continue to support them, opening financing opportunities for them so that their businesses can grow and become large companies,” said José Simón Elarba, President of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal.

The mayor of the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, José Vicente Rangel Ávalos, congratulated the entrepreneurs for attending this valuable training and moving forward to take advantage of Bancamiga’s willingness to provide financing to promote the business initiatives of Venezuelans.

Tools for business

Experts in different areas shared their knowledge and experiences, providing practical tools to attendees. Entrepreneurship and innovation coach Luis Moreno emphasized the importance of optimizing business models to achieve greater impact.

Financial consultant Anna María Donella urged participants to exercise the power they have in finance to carry out their business idea, as well as to strive to identify the skills they must develop in this area.

For his part, Ángel Ramírez, entrepreneurship and innovation coach, promoted the current trend of sales from digital platforms, based on data analysis and the development of skills to boost sales.

Bancamiga’s Entrepreneurship Manager, Oskayda Alvarado, presented the bank’s commercial offer and highlighted the importance of formalizing businesses to access all the financial benefits.

The forum included an exhibition by entrepreneurs and the participation of micro-entrepreneurs from areas such as La Línea, Maca, José Félix Ribas, La Bombilla, La Urbina, Lomas del Ávila, Los Dos Caminos, Boleíta, Filas de Mariche, Turumo, El Llanito, Caucagüita, among others.

Daniela Viloria, from Fab Lab Caracas, the first digital laboratory in the country, celebrated the training day and the support for those who decide to start a business.

“Bancamiga is the only bank that three years ago gave us the opportunity to open a legal account in 10 minutes. We had been trying for a while, and we had obstacles in other banks, but with Bancamiga the process was very fast,” she said.

Marlyn Yépez, leader of Cacao del Valle, said the following: “I think the support that Bancamiga is giving to entrepreneurs is excellent because we all learn to identify what it is that we really want, what motivates us, what strengthens us, what we need to go from entrepreneurs to businessmen.”

The Congress of the Federation of National Associations of Freight Forwarders and International Logistics Operators of Latin America and the Caribbean (Alacat) in 2025 will be held in Madrid, thus returning to Spain after the 2023 edition that took place in Barcelona this same week.

This was agreed by Alacat and Foro MADCargo, an entity focused on promoting air freight transport in Madrid, and which will host the largest congress of logistics operators in Latin America in the capital of Spain.

The president of Alacta, Moisés Solís, and the president of Foro MADCargo, have been in charge of signing the agreement establishing the collaboration framework for the celebration in 2025 of the Congress in the city of Madrid.

In the moments prior to the signing of the Agreement, Solís celebrated the return of the Congress to Spain in 2025 after a new edition of “excellent results” in Barcelona, at the same time that he thanked Foro MADCargo for its commitment to promoting the Alacat Congress in 2025 .

For his part, Cuéllar thanked the trust placed in Foro MADCargo to celebrate the return of the ALACAT Congress to Madrid after the edition held in 2001, 22 years ago. According to the president of Foro MADCargo, the Congress will serve to continue strengthening “Madrid’s indisputable role” as a logistics platform for Latin America in Europe.

In its 2023 edition, the Alacat Forum welcomed the participation of more than 250 congressmen from more than 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

La entrada Madrid will host a congress for Latin American cargo agents apareció primero en Bitfinance.

The general director of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Francesco La Camera, reported that the first Latin American Investment Forum in renewable energy will take place in Uruguay on November 9 and 10 of this year.

The inaugural version of this Latin American forum is expected to attract high-level authorities, financial institutions and private sector companies from the region and around the world and provide a platform to accelerate investments in renewable energy projects in Latin America.

Currently, investment levels in renewables are well below what is needed to achieve the global implementation ambition, and continued investments and subsidies for fossil fuel assets globally are hindering progress.

According to IRENA data, Latin America and the Caribbean attracted at least $20 billion in investment in renewable energy in 2022. This figure only represents about 4% of the global total, highlighting “the urgent need” to accelerate the flow of capital to the region.

Thus, the agency called on project developers in the Latin American region to submit project applications to the Climate Investment Platform (CIP) to be considered by the Energy Transition Accelerator Financing platform (ETAF), which aims to advance the global energy transition in developing economies.

La entrada Uruguay will host a forum on renewable energy this year apareció primero en Bitfinance.

For the second consecutive year, the Women Economic Forum Caribbean will be held, with resilience as the central theme. This time it will be a face-to-face event and will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 17 and 18. The virtual connection modality is also contemplated.

Specialists from the region will meet at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico’s Metro Campus with the purpose of analyzing key issues such as “education trends, job opportunities, economic growth, technology, innovation, politics and health.”

During the two days of the forum, various workshops will be organized as well as a business fair to establish synergies among the attendees. This year, an attendance of 900 people is expected, both from the organizing country and from the rest of the world.

Reddit is developing a project that aims to recognize NFTs within its platform; that is, establish NFTs as profile images and verify their possession, following in the footsteps of the instant messaging social network Twitter.

The project is in its initial phase for which many details are not known. However, the website has confirmed that it is “working to implement any NFT as a profile picture, be it from the ethereum, solana or other network.”

The possibility that the company starts with its own NFTs and thus be able to reward their beneficiaries is also being handled.

Reddit is currently not offering its NFT implementation system to users, as it would be reserved for internal developer testing. The expectations are that the system works in a similar way to that of Twitter, linked to “a wallet and recognizing the ownership of the asset.”

The forum would also provide NTF information to non-possessing users such as its rarity, the network on which it is hosted or its protocol of use.

NFT collection on Reddit

Reddit already has a first experience with NTFs, during 2021 the website launched its “limited NFT collection called CryptoSnoos”, honoring its iconic mascot Snoo. The collection established different models of Snoo characterized by a “genome system such as common, rare or legendary”. This collection was made through the Ethereum network.

It is estimated that the implementation of the NFTs on Reddit will be a matter of time because with the broadcast of its collection the interest in them was evidenced.
