According to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the temporary injunction against HB3, ordered by a judge in June, was overturned by a vote of two to one. The Florida government announced that it will begin implementing the ban, which will require users to identify themselves to verify their age.

While this is happening, the legal process continues for a lawsuit filed by the industry, which claims the law violates constitutional freedom of expression.

HB3 is now the law of the state, authorities indicated. For his part, the state attorney general, James Uthmeier, stated: “We are putting all the big tech companies on notice: Put our children at risk and see what happens!”

Lawsuits for NetChoice are expected to take action, as they consider the law a “censorship law.” However, it is clear that under the law, “users will have to prove their age through facial scanning or identification to access adult websites.” Furthermore, social media companies will be required to delete the accounts of users under 14 years of age on their platforms, under penalty of fines.

In this regard, they have explained that they want to maintain trade with countries like Argentina and Venezuela, whose national currencies are unstable. “A trend that entrepreneurs attribute, in part, to new US government policies favorable to these digital assets.”

One of the companies that is entering this space is Giannone, which “buys batches of used iPhones, certifies their operation, and distributes them to resellers in Latin America.” It has already established contact with the Shield platform, co-founded by a Latin American entrepreneur to “help companies transact in stablecoins, such as USDT, pegged to the value of the US dollar.”

Payments to Jireh Tech Solutions can be made in cryptocurrencies backed by the US dollar, thus “avoiding exchange rate depreciation with the certainty that they comply with the new regulations required by the United States, but with less banking bureaucracy.”

The companies involved point out that the use of cryptocurrencies is an alternative that allows them to grow their client base, in addition to offering them a second option, since what they normally did “was only receive wire transfers (bank transfers) with all clients, and there was no second option for all of them.”

“The mission will take off on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from a platform at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and will aim to study the climatic conditions of space,” as reported.

The NOAA satellite, called GOES-U (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite U) will carry a series of specialized instruments that will allow obtaining advanced quality images, performing atmospheric measurements and real-time mapping of lightning activity as well as detecting of approaching space weather hazards.

“It will include a new compact coronagraph (a device that allows observing dimly illuminated objects near a star) that will take images of the outer layer of the Sun’s atmosphere to detect mass ejections from the corona.”

It is the fourth and last satellite in the GOES-R series. And its main objective will be to improve the ability to “monitor and forecast climate, ocean and environmental dynamics in real time.”

To obtain better images, the NASA satellite is equipped with seven high-definition instruments for monitoring the Earth’s western hemisphere. Once the launch is completed and in-orbit verification is done, NOAA “will redesignate GOES-U as GOES-19.”

The report, commissioned by Walt Disney World and prepared by the consulting firm Oxford Economics, highlights that this entertainment giant has left $3.1 billion in local and state coffers during fiscal year 2022.

With four theme parks, two water parks and more than 25 hotels, Disney established itself as an essential economic catalyst for Florida. Adam Sacks, president of Tourism Economics, a division of Oxford Economics, emphasized that Disney’s economic influence extends both directly and indirectly through its supply chain and employee spending.

The report reveals that Disney’s presence in Florida has resulted in more than a quarter of a million jobs, making the company a relevant player in the state’s labor market. One in 32 jobs is attributed to Disney, and in central Florida, home to the popular theme parks, one in 8 direct jobs is linked to Walt Disney World.

The impact goes further, given that for every job created within Disney facilities, an average of 1.7 jobs are generated throughout the state, collaborating with around 2,500 businesses in Florida.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Monday: “Unlike a decentralized digital currency or cryptocurrency, a CBDC is directly controlled and issued by the government to consumers, giving government bureaucrats the ability to see all consumer activity and the power to cut off access to goods and services for consumers”.

DeSantis maintains his position as a measure to protect citizens from what he considers “weapons of the Biden government” and calls on federal entities to join this decision.

DeSantis’ proposal “seeks to protect Florida consumers and businesses from the reckless adoption of a centralized dollar that will stifle innovation and promote government-sanctioned surveillance.”

The official stresses that Florida will not bow to Biden’s policies, which can threaten economic freedom as well as personal security.

Security is the cornerstone of regulation against CBDCs, which give the government the power to track citizen transactions.

Tarren Bragdon, an executive with the Foundation for Government Accountability, has given his support to Governor DeSantis and has added: “Our money (the US dollar) says ‘In God We Trust.’ The central bank digital currency would change that to ‘In Government We Trust’. That is wrong, and I am grateful for the Florida Governor’s continued pushback of an out-of-control DC bureaucracy.”

The mayor of Miami indicated that the list of weight companies that will operate in Miami will continue to grow in the coming months. “I’m like a college football recruiter. My job is to get people who are testing here and there to invest more in the city”, with the incentive in addition to low taxes.

Suárez explained that it all started last December, when a Twitter user wrote: “Ok guys, listen to me, what if we moved from Silicon Valley to Miami? To which Suárez responded, also on that platform, “How can I help?”

In addition to the great weather and diverse population, he noted that low taxes have proven to be a great incentive that serves to “prepare Miami for the future and create the next generation of leaders right here at home.”

And he specified that these companies will bring “high-quality and well-paid jobs to our city.”

According to Suarez, Miami and Miami-Dade County generate the largest number of African American and Hispanic engineers in the country, but run the future risk of being left out or unprepared for many jobs.

He added that the Covid-19 pandemic has played an important role in the decision of these financial and technology companies to relocate or open permanent offices in Miami, as the number of companies that switch to a virtual work environment increases.
