The ‘Bancoagrícola‘ from El Salvador‘ announced that it will work to promote the use of bitcoin in the region in the hands of the digital payment gateway Flexa.

Through an official announcement issued by the payment company, it was reported on the agreement signed with the financial institution they talk about a crypto payment network to allow bitcoin transfers between the bank’s clients.

As part of the partnership, Bancoagrícola customers can make US dollar-denominated credit card payments through Flexa or other Lightning Network-enabled wallets such as Chivo and Éclair. According to the statement, these payments will not generate additional fees and will cover loans and commercial assets, among others.

This wave around cryptocurrencies comes at a time when El Salvador began to officially accept bitcoin as legal tender.
