Repeat offenses will be penalized with a €20,000 fine, and in extreme cases, authorities may ban travelers from flying for up to four years.

The measure was adopted to curb inappropriate behavior on aircraft, which is considered “a growing threat to passengers and flight crew.”

Among the grounds for fines are refusing to turn off cell phones during flights when cabin crew have prohibited their use for the entire flight or during any phase thereof; obstructing “the performance of safety duties by flight crew”; and, finally, “refusal to comply with safety instructions given by flight personnel.”

The decree applies to flights operated by airlines licensed in France. “The system implements a specific database that will be managed by the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), with the function of centralizing reports of disruptive behavior submitted by French airlines.”

It is important to clarify that “these administrative sanctions are in addition to the possibility of initiating criminal proceedings for the most serious offenses, which can carry prison sentences of up to five years and fines of €75,000.”

The authorities seek to deepen controls on crimes such as money laundering, with new controls, such as fines of $500,000 and up to 10 years in prison for those who do not comply with the new financial transparency regulations.

The measure has been announced by officials of the Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP), an entity that “requires that any traveler who exceeds the limit of 10,000 dollars make an official declaration. This can be done through several methods, including specific forms provided by customs authorities. One of them is the CBP Form 6059B.”

The regulation applies to “coins or bills from the United States or another country, traveler’s checks of any type; all negotiable instruments (personal, commercial, official bank, cashier’s, third-party checks, promissory notes and money orders) that are in the name of the bearer, endorsed without restrictions, in the name of a fictitious beneficiary, or otherwise, in such a way that the title is transferred at the time of delivery.”

It is also applicable to “incomplete instruments (personal, commercial, official bank, cashier’s, third-party checks, promissory notes and money orders) signed, but with the name of the beneficiary omitted; securities or shares in bearer form or otherwise, such that title is transferred to them at the time of delivery.”

The declaration to enter or leave the US with the aforementioned sum in cash or a larger combination of monetary instruments may be made using Form FinCEN 105, which the interested party must print and deliver to the Customs and Border Protection agent upon entering or leaving the US. Also, by completing and sending the FinCEN Form online at least three days in advance of the trip.

It is noted with the closure of the Tribune Auteuil for one party due to this reason. In addition, 18,000 euros are added for blocking public roads and 5,000 euros for invasion of the playing field.

The Dutch PSV Eindhoven also faces a fine of 25,000 euros for lighting flares, throwing objects and acts of vandalism by its fans in the match against Lens. There is the possibility of prohibiting the sale of tickets to their supporters for a European competition match away from home.

On the other hand, Belgian Antwerp and Genk are fined 20,000 euros each for disturbances in the stands in their respective matches against Porto, with the warning of a possible partial closure of their stadiums.

Fines and warnings to Europe League teams

Olympiacos, in addition to facing a possible partial closure of its stadium, must pay a fine of 21,000 euros. This is due to racist insults from the stands, inappropriate behavior from their players and invasion of the field during a Europe League match against West Ham.

As for Czech side Slavia Prague, they are fined 20,000 euros for rioting, lighting flares and throwing objects in Rome. Meanwhile, Bosnian side Zrinjski will have to pay 10,000 euros for their inability to locate spectators and are threatened with playing a match behind closed doors due to racist insults from their supporters, lighting flares and throwing objects against Legia Warsaw.

It should be noted that all sanctions that do not involve the payment of a financial amount are suspended for a probationary period of two years.

Influencers are at the top of the list of suspects.

In order to control the commercial use made of social networks, the French government launched a public consultation available until January 31. It “will allow all French people who wish to express their opinion on 11 measures divided into four themes: the rights and obligations of influencers, intellectual property, consumer protection and governance of the sector.”

According to French government spokesmen, what is sought is to bring order to business via social networks; protect citizens, businesses and brands from scams; prevent crimes through these platforms, among others.

The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, had already ruled on this matter in December. Referring to influencers, he said: “Millions of you consult their opinions and recommendations in the field of fashion, sports, beauty and travel. That is why they play a role in our daily lives. This gives them a special responsibility.”

Le Maire stresses the need for people promoting brands and products to comply with French law, and to be transparent when advertising, stating that they have been paid for such activity. Otherwise, they expose themselves to fines and other restrictions.

Among the reasons for the region to impose fines on these and other companies in the technology sector are the antitrust fight through unfair campaigns, promotion of hate speech, application of undue fees in the market, operating system failures.

The spread of news related to the fines has wreaked havoc on social networks. But it has been the way for the public to find out about the irregularities. In the case of Google, for example, it is one of the main ones in the anti-monopoly list. For this reason, it has been fined 4,300 million euros in an irregularity with its Android operating system. And the EU, through the General Court, rejected an appeal to the case on Wednesday.

The fight to reduce the dominant position in the technology market also involves Apple, accused of blocking its competitors in its payment system for the iPhone.

On the other hand, there is the fine to Microsoft in 2013, amounting to 561 million euros, as a result of the implementation of its Internet Explores search engine to Windows 7 users.

Amazon has not escaped the consequences for breaching European standards. Last year he received a fine of 746 million euros.

Likewise, the social networks Facebook and Twitter quite frequently receive accusations for cases of disinformation and hate speech.

The big tech companies are in the eye of the European Union’s High Court, bent on controlling their performance, profits and competition with their rivals.

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) of Poland, the country of origin of the development study, has taken an interest in the complaints of the players regarding the CD Projekt Red game and announced that it will monitor the resolution of the problems.

Specifically, and as explained by the Polish media Dziennik, the Office will check the work of the studio in solving the problems and introducing patches for the bugs in game consoles. They will also monitor CD Projekt Red’s attention to complaints from dissatisfied users, as noted by a spokesperson.

At the extreme, the Office could fine CD Projekt Red with the payment of up to 10% of the income obtained last year, in addition to compensation to the affected users.

The video game, one of the most anticipated of the past year, was released on December 10 for video consoles and PCs, although its performance, especially on PS4 and Xbox One, has been the subject of complaints from players. This led the development studio to announce several patches and two major fixes that will arrive in the coming months with which to improve the experiences.
