The United States could become the cryptocurrency capital if the executive order recently signed by Donald Trump moves forward successfully, with the help of David Sacks, an expert in AI and crypto assets.

In a statement, the White House indicated: “The growth of digital financial technology in the United States should not be hampered by restrictive regulations or unnecessary government interference.”

The legal instrument signed by Trump authorizes the creation of a task force in these disciplines, with a deadline of six months to make recommendations to the president.

On the other hand, the executive order “prohibits the establishment of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) and revokes a measure by the administration of former President Joe Biden, which suppressed innovation and undermined America’s economic freedom and global leadership in digital finance.”

Investment in fintech companies in America reached 51 billion dollars in the first half of the year in a total of 1,188 operations in the region, according to a report published by KPMG.

The analysis carried out by the consulting firm details that the venture capital investment reached a record of 31,000 million dollars, compared to 24,000 million the previous year.

Among the reasons that explain this boom in investment in this type of firms, KPMG points out the continuous innovations in financial technology and the increase with the digital offer, whose combined effect has made the fintech sector “one of the most active sectors for investment, “both from a venture capital perspective and in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

In the Latin American region, the report highlights the round of financing of 1,500 million dollars raised by the Brazilian digital bank Nubank.

“The global trend towards a greater participation of companies in investment was especially highlighted in the Americas region during the first half of 2021″, the text said.

According to Popov, “there is a high probability that this project will launch in the spring. There is one more issue that has yet to be fully resolved, which is related to the taxation of digital financial assets. But we hope this issue will be resolved soon.”

According to what was reported by the spokesperson, the financial institution is ready in the technological field “to work with a fiat currency” adding that: “We have completed an internal test to verify that the solution works.”
