The industrial sector in Lara State, Venezuela, has shown a slow but steady reactivation, according to Joel Segura, president of the Federation of Chambers and Associations of Commerce of the region, who spoke last week.

According to Fedecámaras Lara, “after a period of inactivity, the metalworking industry in the state restarted operations within the framework of the hydrocarbon investments announced for the country.”

According to Segura, the reactivation of the metalworking industry has begun, “which served the oil sector, basic industries, and sugar production, including high-level foundries.”

The union leader clarified, however, that the sector’s reactivation is progressing “slowly but steadily.” They have started the search of skilled labor, “primarily engineers in the fields of electricity, mechanics, electronics, computer science, and chemistry; as well as professionals in administration and logistics specialists.”

The goal is for this reopening to help boost the reactivation of other economic sectors such as commerce and construction.
