A new Nintendo production about Mario Bros is scheduled to be screened in the United States in April 2026.

It will star the same characters from the leading Japanese video game company. The launch in the rest of the world will be the same month of April.

As you may remember, the first installment, “Super Mario Bros.: the Movie,” was released in April of last year and grossed more than $1.36 billion worldwide.

According to Christopher Meledandri, founder of the American animation studio Illumination that produced the first film, the animation phase will begin very soon. In addition, he noted that it will be carried out by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, as in the previous case.

Regarding the details of the production, Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s star designer and creator of Mario, indicated that when they feel ready they will announce them. What it did announce was the release dates of new games in the saga: Paper Mario: The Millennial Door on May 23, 2024, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD on June 27.
