TikTok is trying to incorporate the possibility of performing a search on the Google service from its social network application, with an external link that opens in its own browser.

The test that TikTok has started shows a link to Google Search when the user enters the keywords of what they want to consult in the social network’s search bar, as application researcher Radu Oncescu first shared in his profile on social network X.

This link opens an integrated browser and collects the search results offered by the technology giant, with the warning that TikTok is not responsible for said results.

A spokesperson for the social network has confirmed to Business Insider that they are experimenting globally and in different markets with integrations from third-party companies, including Google. He has also clarified that it is not an ad unit.
