After months of effort in its preparation, one of the film festivals with the longest history in Venezuela begins. The Festival Ascenso reaches its eighteenth edition to continue telling stories that promote experiences and adventures lived in the middle of nature, and to publicize the most recent challenges of Venezuelans.

With the support and enthusiasm that Bancamiga has offered in recent years, the Festival will be held from October 19 at the Chacao Cultural Center. According to its director, Orlando Corona, it will be a space to also contribute to this future challenge that “we have ahead, approaching us through significant experiences that have to do with what we like and are passionate about, now with more awareness of the value that has the environment for the world”.

On this occasion we will have the presentation of its customary categories land, water, air, environment and social awareness, in audiovisual projections. There is also the participation of photographers, with images exhibited in the open spaces of the Center, and the successful Expo Ascenso will return to promote the culture of adventure, travel and tourism in Venezuela.

Tribute to the Summit Project

Corona revealed that, 18 years after its edition, there have been many stories shared from the community of adventurers, athletes and nature lovers, and enjoyed by a wide audience of all ages, in numerous events that have promoted culture audiovisual as a tool to disseminate experiences and learning in the relationship between man and nature.

This year, the Festival Ascenso will pay tribute to the Proyecto Cumbre, a pioneer of expeditions to the world’s great mountains, and will feature the participation of Venezuelan Raúl Biocchi, who recently climbed Everest, once again carrying the national tricolor to the top of the world.
