Netflix, one of the most important streaming services in the world, gave its predictions about when will be the end of television as it is known today.

Specifically, the entertainment platform assured that television “will follow the path of the dinosaurs” between the next 5 and 10 years.

The company’s CEO, Reed Hastings, was the one who gave these forceful statements during the announcement of the loss of more than one million subscribers in the second quarter of 2022.

“Television will follow the path of the dinosaur in the next decade, that is, complete extinction. It is definitely the end of linear television in the next five or ten years,” said the executive.

Netflix’s strategy focuses on reversing the unfavorable situation in which it finds itself, to the point of creating new cheaper plans with a small inclusion of advertising between videos.
