According to the analyst, these characteristics make it imperative to take measures for the sector’s recovery, which “will depend on a sustained reactivation of investment, accompanied by technological modernization and training for the population entering the labor market.”

Acosta believes that a new economic phase for the country requires “combining opportunities with capital and skills development,” adding: “If you accompany this with investment and technological upgrades in places where work is formalized, the future is brighter than we imagine.”

With increased production, a greater contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is generated, and consequently, more economic value, the analyst said, emphasizing that profits are weak because “we produce little.” In his opinion, “the country must make productivity the central focus for improving income and competitiveness.”

He insisted that the transformation Venezuela needs “is not temporary, it is structural,” which is why it is necessary to retain talent and obtain international support. Recovery implies “a combination of investment, training, and technological modernization, elements he considers essential to reverse the current lag.”
