The Administrative Service for Immigration and Immigration Identification (SAIME) enabled a new data update for Venezuelans abroad, according to a statement in the last hours of Thursday, May 30.

The information was also disseminated by some consulates, such as those of Colombia and Peru, where there is a high percentage of Venezuelan citizens.

The update must be carried out in person, according to the statement, in the morning and free of charge. This is a measure to provide assistance to Venezuelans and allow them access to their accounts in case they have lost it.

The official SAIME document details that the process can be carried out between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning, starting today, Monday, June 3, according to the Venezuelan ID terminal.

In its account on the social network X, the Venezuelan embassy in Peru indicated that “the process for updating the email was enabled, which will allow users to modify their password to access the SAIME website: https://saime.gob.ve.”

The requirements for this procedure are to present the laminated ID and bring the email in printed format for updating.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela began to deploy machines throughout the country to open, starting this Monday, March 18, a voter registration process that will last until April 16, ahead of the presidential elections on July 28.

Through X, the strategic operational commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported the deployment of military personnel in Caracas and the 23 states of the country to protect the equipment that will be used in the registration of new voters.

“The FANB remains deployed in support of the CNE, in compliance with the electoral schedule, and is in the current phase of deploying the electoral machines and material that will soon be used in the registry,” the commander indicated on the social network.

Although the CNE has not provided information about the deployment, the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) indicated that the entity’s regional offices will be open for seven hours, closing every day at 3:30 p.m. Venezuelan time (7:30 p.m. GMT).

The “special” operation to open the electoral roll, according to the CNE, will be held inside and outside Venezuela, but the regulations that will govern abroad or in which countries registration will be enabled are still unknown.

Nearly three million Venezuelans over 18 years of age are not on the electoral register, which prevents them from voting in the presidential elections, which is why they have asked the CNE to promote registration in the census and the opening of thousands of centers for this task.
