This Wednesday, June 24, two earthquakes with a magnitude greater than 7 on the Richter scale shook Venezuela after 6:00 p.m.

The demonstrations of international solidarity have not been long in coming. The United States, China, Russia, as well as France, Germany, among others, have sent messages of support to the Venezuelan people at this time. Words of encouragement have also come from Cuba, Panama, Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico, Ecuador and Guyana, in addition to sending brigades of doctors and accompaniment.

On the other hand, the UN and the EU have mobilized technical personnel to urgently respond to the needs of those affected.

Seismic surveillance personnel, as well as the Armed Forces and the interim government, remain alert to the numerous aftershocks that have occurred after the double seismic event that affected the country.
