Microsoft announced that it will withdraw support for its Cortana virtual assistant application in Windows at the end of this year 2023, and recalled that users can access the new productivity features implemented in Windows and Edge, thanks to the greater capabilities offered by Intelligence Artificial (AI).

The American company has already ended the Cortana support service for Android and iOS in 2021, putting an end to features such as to-do lists or reminders on smartphones. Now, Microsoft has the same plans for its version of Windows.

This was stated by the technology company in a statement on its support blog, where it explained that “some changes” are being carried out in Windows that will affect users of the Cortana application. In this regard, Microsoft emphasized that by the end of 2023 Cortana will no longer be supported in Windows as a standalone application.

Cortana was launched in 2014 as a voice assistant for Windows mobile devices, including features that made it easier for users to perform tasks such as searching for files, creating lists, creating reminders, or setting alarms. A year later it came to computers with the update to Windows 10.
