A simplified version of the crown of Saint Edward is the new emoji commissioned by the British crown on the occasion of the upcoming investiture ceremony as monarch of King Charles III.

The emoji is now ready and is part of several Buckingham Palace initiatives to give greater visibility to the event, in addition to ensuring that “royalty is increasingly introduced to digital environments.”

According to information published in the media, the emoji is available on the social network Twitter as an option “to be used every time someone uses the following hashtags: #Coronation #CoronationConcert #CoronationWeekend #CoronationBigLunch #TheBigHelpOut”.

As a precedent for this type of initiative is the emoji of a Corgi, one of the favorites of the late Queen Elizabeth, which was designed for the Jubilee in 2022.

The invitation to the coronation of King Charles III as monarch, as well as his consort, Camilla Parker, on May 6, is also already circulating on Twitter. There are two thousand official guests at this celebration.

The colorful design was inspired by the elements of nature. According to Vanity Fair, it is a work of Andrew Jamieson, and “its original design has been hand-painted in watercolor and gouache and the design, reminiscent of the Coronation Emblem, will be reproduced and printed on recycled cardboard, with details in gold bread.”
