The Brazilian company TuneTraders uses blockchain technology to track original musical works and differentiate them from those created using artificial intelligence.

The company’s goal is to reduce the uncontrolled increase in AI-generated music, as they have detected “approximately 20,000 songs created by AI every day, which has raised alarm bells in the industry,” according to the Dreezer platform.

TuneTraders operates through a blockchain protocol that records “every stage of musical creation, compression, and performance, ensuring traceability and auditability.” With this tool, involved companies, such as record labels, distributors, streaming platforms, and regulators, have access to detailed information about the original production, the type of compression, and the creation history.

This seeks to provide solutions to situations that threaten the fair distribution of revenue and, very importantly, protect copyright.
